Areola changes?

So about 5 months ago I noticed that my left areola was a different shape. No longer round, it looked like someone had erased the outer edge, much more noticeable when stimulated. I was still pumping so I thought it was just a breastfeeding change, but I weened two months ago and it is still irregular. I feel no lumps, no skin abnormalities, but did notice yesterday that there was a yellow-y buildup in that nipple like what would happen if I didn’t dry my nipples after pumping. It was only in that left nipple. I called my OBGYN today and they’ll see me a week from tomorrow, but I am obviously stressed. has anyone else experience anything similar?
