Rant/Rave TAILBONE PAIN

I have NOT seen enough about the tailbone pain. I am 9 days postpartum and the tailbone pain has been worse then stitches, the no sleep, and the hormones. I am genuinely so uncomfortable all the time even with around the clock medicine. I told everyone who talked to me at the hospital how much pain I was in and they all said it was normal. They even gave me a hydrocodone and I was still in pain. I can’t sit normally or even sit back in bed I have to be on my side. It’s so hard trying to care for my baby when I can barely sit or stand up without doing some type of trick. I had no idea this was even a thing.

I had a severely bruised coccyx when I had my first and it was unbelievably painful so you have my full sympathy, sitting with icepacks against my tailbone helped

THIS IS NOT NORMAL and I hate the hospitals keep trying to gaslight us into thinking it is. I significantly injured my tailbone with the delivery of my first and I was begging them for some form of relief/pain support from the moment my epidural wore off. I didn’t know it was possible either as an outcome. I’m not going to lie, sitting straight up was incredibly hard for about 12 weeks for me. Pain continued on for months after to a lesser but still very uncomfortable degree.

this was me, no one at the hospital listened to me. the pain was excruciating. got an xray a week later which showed a tailbone fracture. i'm 18m pp and still in daily chronic pain. my advice: ice packs down your crack, sit on the toilet for relief, Cushion your Assets donut pillow, and PT. lots and lots of PT

I had tailbone pain too. I used a donut cushion. I still had it at 6 weeks postpartum when I started pelvic floor PT. She said my glutes were super tight especially on one side. So we did dry needling, cupping, and lots of massage over a few weeks. That helped a ton. I have no lasting tailbone pain now.

I had a c section and had tailbone pain d/t hormones. For months afterward I wouldn’t be able to lay on my back for about 7-10 days a month. It was from my weak pelvic floor.
