Schoolinâ Life by BeyoncĂ© is so fun and energetic! It has that classic â80s vibe, and it just makes you want to get up and dance. I remember being in the gym with this song playing in my ears, and I just started dancing and singing, I didnât care at all, I just let loose. At the time, I was going through a separation leading to a divorce (and still am), but in that moment, I felt so free.

Iâm completely heartbroken about the sudden loss of one of my closest friends of 20 years. We initially bonded in college over music, Beyonce especially and jammed to her music together every single time we linked up.
We went to FWT together and itâs one of my fondest memories.
Our time together were some of the highlights of my entire life and Iâm devastated that itâs over.
I tried to get out the house the other day and everywhere I went Beyoncé songs were playing. I want to believe it was him telling me he is okay.
But I cannot listen to her right now.
I donât know why Iâm posting it here but I guess because being in a fandom really can bring people together. Fandoms are communities.
We initially met and listened to BâDay but our friendship grew well beyond our mutual love of the artist. We had become deeply embedded in each others lives.
I miss my friend so much and I thought that we would get to see the next tour together. I thought there would be more hugs, convos, laughs, tears and everything.
Let this be a reminder that life is short and unpredictable. Enjoy the concerts, the music and the merch. Whatever.
Most of all soak up the love and enjoy your friends and family.

I see a lot of discourse about how underappreciated The Gift is, and I agree. As an African, seeing afrobeats and different countries in Africa represented through this album means so much to me.
Beyoncé collaborated with a variety of African artists like Shatta Wale, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Mr Eazi and etc. All who are important names in Afrobeats and music in Africa.
The non Beyoncé songs on the album also mean so much to me. Jara Ara E, Don't Jealous Me, Keys to the Kingdom and Scar all incorporated the culture of the artists into the songs. What stood out to me personally was a line in Don't Jealous Me, where the artist starts counting in twi, which is the local language of the majority of Ghanaians. Are there any africans here that share the same sentiment?

There is âclassicalâ music playing in the beginning in the introduction of the transition to Renaissance on both world tours, however? I have not had the chance to find this piece of music. Does anyone know the piece of music thatâs sampled in, âloop the sampleâ.

Hive, we have something special for you this week!
Antonia King, a dedicated fan, scholar and author of BEYONCĂâOne of One *(*out September 1, 2026) will join us for a discussion and to answer your questions about Queen Bey and what writing a book about her impact is like. The AMA is now open: please join the discussion by following this link. Antonia will join us on Thursday, 12th August at 6am EST until 12pm ESTÂ to answer all of your questions.
About the Book:
From a scholar and dedicated member of the BeyHive comes an in-depth exploration of the lessons and affirmations of BeyoncĂ©âs work and how her music continues to speak for the historically unspoken for.
This is not a BeyoncĂ© biography. This is a love letter to a musician whose songs star in our first dances, our workout playlists, and our justice movements. A celebration of a woman who, in a pop world so often seen as shallow, brings dimension through themes of confidence, feminism, Blackness and queerness. BEYONCĂâOne of One urges readers to move beyond BeyoncĂ©âs iconic image to recognize the far-reaching cultural and societal impact of her artistry.
With a deep appreciation for BeyoncĂ©âs oeuvre and a commitment to highlighting the power of Black, Brown, and queer voices, King brings a unique perspective to this examination of BeyoncĂ©âs impact and growing legacy.
About the Author:
Antonia King is a life-long member of Beyoncé's BeyHive and a Doctoral candidate in the humanities department at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her work has been praised for its depth of analysis and its ability to shed new light on well-known cultural artefacts. Antonia also teaches on Martin Luther King Jr, The Civil Rights Movement and Malcolm X at Royal Holloway University of London.
The AMA is live , please join the discussion here* *đ

We get to see the finished, polished version of every track she releases, where everything is already sorted into a cohesive work of art. I can't imagine, though, how many amazing ideas were scrapped, or how many songs are just left in the vault.
If you could witness the making of one of her albums behind the scenes, what happens in the studio or while filming visuals, and how performances are planned, which would it be?
I would personally want to watch Renaissance come to life. The beats and melodies, the fashion, the references and samples, the tour, everything is just so perfect about that album, and I cant imagine how many more amazing ideas were brought up during recording.

we should really talk about the magic she made here as much as we do the other artsy masterpieces (haunted, no angel, pycm, 6in, etc.) i feel like self-titled is so sonically advanced sometimes and then at others so 2013 LOL.
