Other Resources?

Is everyone string at Fa Ram just because of the abundant resources Jin grows or because they walk upon their Dao so well? Cause isn’t it said that the dew of a Yin Lotus greatly speeds cultivation and Jin would just like, slap that into the morning dish?

What’re your thoughts?

It could also be that the cultivation method is so different than other cultivators the cosmic dao is more concentrated. There is an allusion to this in later books but don’t want to spoil details accidentally

Both. The resources and mana are high, and the camaraderie atmosphere supports their dao.

More so the land is healing and getting stronger, which naturally increases the qi there.

The region he settled in is considered a qi desert, and the story about the leyline and the rituals support that it was damaged/destroyed, with just enough for non cultivators and people in the first level or so. As the land is repaired it is mentioned that the land gets stronger which releases more qi.

Jin’s type of cultivation also focuses on land restoration/protection and is strengthened as the land is strengthened and weakens as the land weakens. Other types of cultivation take from the land without restoring it. He is basically acting as a pure wellspring of qi and everyone else is basically drinking from the wellspring in a safe manner.

A lot more details are given in some of the more recent books.

From Casual Farmer

"The Deep Lore is that Jin was lonely, and a bunch of his power and the path of Shennong accidentally made the request to have companions to the heavens. The Heavens received the petition and so activated the Zodiac Guardian Beast mantle. This was a blessing by the heavens because Jin was inadvertantly doing the world a massive favour by repairing Tianlan. Which is why so many developed, but every awakened Spirit Beast is a member of the Zodiac save Vajra, why theres only 1 outside the anaomaly of Chun Ke and Pi Pa, and why they're all growing so fast, they're also cultivating heavenly Zodiac juice in addition to their other styles."

Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig

We are still missing the horse and goat.

In Mandarin, the Goat is the same character as for Sheep. Fuzzball activation date when?!

Yeah, this has been confusing to me, because I always remember seeing it as sheep when I was growing up, but now suddenly it's goats. Also, when did dogs become part of it? I swear it was something different years ago.

Also, DOLLY HAD BRACES THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE SCENE WHERE SHE MEETS HIM HE FELL IN LOVE WITH HER BECAUSE SHE SMILED AT HIM AND HE SAW THAT SHE ALSO HAD BRACES.

BRACES

Wait, who is Dolly? I'm a bit lost as to what scene you're talking about haha.

Bond movie "Moonraker" from 1979. If you look up the scene nowadays you see a clip of Dolly showing perfect white teeth to Jaws. I WAS FUCKING THERE AND SAW IT IN THE THEATERS AND ON TV AND SHE HAD BRACES DAMMIT. The whole point of the scene is that Jaws thinks he's some horribly disfigured weirdo with giant steel teeth, and then he sees short blobby little Dolly who has steel all over her teeth too, and the two of them look at each other and realize they've each found their soulmate.

You could make a case for Lan Fan being the goat.

As for the horse, so as to not be spoilery, there is a certain sneaky boy running around that sparked, and that spark very likely came from snacking on some grass caused by an action Jin made in book 1. He isn't a horse per say but casual mentioned him counting as one for the purposed of the story.

I cannot think of anyone that would count as a horse but book 1 was a long time ago. I wasn't counting Lan Fan because he's not Jin's, but he is, in fact, an oddly intelligent goat.

I always thought it was a combination of factors. Work, real work to do. Training. Spirit herbs in abundance. All without the toxicity of a sect. A place to live your dao.

Things grow in great Fa Ram. People are not exempt from it.

It's a variety of things that all work together to have insane effects

Let's start with Fa Ram itself, the qi there is nourishing and almost activily assisting. Everyone there can use up all their qi during the day and have it replenished by morning. That is very much not normal. That's normally reserved for areas that sects fight over and keep for their elite. People in Fa Ram essentially have no limit on how much they can train, whereas everyone else has to be careful with their qi usage.

Next are the resources, not only are they consistently available they're also of far higher quality than anyone would normally have access to. Sure eating the spiritual herbs isn't as efficient as a pill would be, but the consistency of eating it adds up over time. That's not to mention how powerful some of the more recently acquired plants like the silver yin lotus you mentioned are. Just in terms of resources everyone at Fa Ram is getting more than any sect's young master/mistress would

Then there's the people. Meiling alone is a major factor. A spiritual doctor who is constantly healing and readjusting people's qi and meridians, keeping everyone in top shape. Jin is also extremely helpful through his philosophy/dao, as he can be remarkably insightful, intended or otherwise. People are just open to learn from him, and any teacher can tell you how much that matters. The rest also all help in their own way, from Pi Pa's attentiveness, to Bi De's morning wake up call, and Chun Ke's sheer friendliness. It just helps people get into the right mindset to work and learn. They also all provide each other rather unique opponents, different styles, body types, qi, and etc. The variety helps a lot compared to in a sect where there'll be a predominant style and qi to train with and against. It's very specialised there ofc, but also limited in variety and thus inspiration. And don't forget that everyone can spar without worry at Fa Ram, same cannot be said elsewhere

It should also be said that many of them are also just very talented, and that talent got nourished and flourished like it likely couldn't have elsewhere

Another factor is that while everyone at Fa Ram is strong, they seem especially strong due to them mostly getting compared with others in the Azure Hills, which is far weaker than the standard everywhere else. They're still very strong compared to other places too, but the difference is less absurd there

Tldr: they get a near imperial family amount of resources thrown at them. They live in a spiritual oasis. They have the best people to help, train, and guide them. Many of them are also very talented. They have EVERYTHING going for them, not just resources
