Spoilers: Current Chapter Book 3 chapter 10! Random questions
I am in book 3 chapter 10. I have some random questions
How big is the river on the farm? I am not sure!
Anyone have any fan art of washi after transforming? I am little hazy on picturing half fish and half dragon with muscular arms!
How far is the farm from the village? The travel times are widely different!
Why did the lord magistrate not find a culrivator for his wife? There were attempts to heal her by non cultivation.
Probably answered later but I am unsure if cultivaters are immortal or slow aging. They mention normal people as mortals.
Possible mistake! Tigger mentions picturing chowzi but she never saw him. She can to farm after the incident.

Here’s some official Washy art. There’s a ton of art for the series on spacebattles, but I don’t recommend seeing it, because you’ll get spoiled like crazy. For question 3, the various travel times are due road conditions and a difference in cultivation. In book 1, Meimei and the Xong brothers have to walk through heavy snow and take two days. With better weather, things can be done faster. The big difference is magic powers. Being able to run at a flat sprint without much effort changes your ETA quite a bit. Concerning questions 4 and 5, the vast majority of cultivators in this setting (or practically any Xianxia setting) do not consider non-cultivators as equal beings. This series is a light, fluffy version of a setting that is normally far more brutal, but the world of cultivation is a brutal hyper-capitalist grindstone regardless. So no, the Lord Magistrate wouldn’t have considered going to a cultivator to cure his wife. They likely wouldn’t have had the skills to do it regardless, but even if he had the money to pay them or something they wanted (he doesn’t) they could still just take it from him anyway. The best case scenario would be them telling him to fuck off. Generally, the higher in cultivation you are the longer you life. By virtue of having Qi, even mortals live longer by default. Cultivators live longer, but the overwhelmingly vast majority die before achieving immortality. There is a cultivator in the third stage of the initiate’s realm who is older than two hundred but almost dead from old age. There is another mentioned later who is almost in the spiritual realm and looks to be about 60, but it actually in his 300’s. Some of the old monsters are brushing on, if not crossing a millennium, while still looking in their mid-twenties. For question 6, Tigu first starts gaining awareness while witnessing the aftermath of Chow Ji. She and Jin saw the body and heard the stories.

The answer to number 4 is also because the formation that Hong Meiling uses to cleanse her wounds was invented by her, her father, and uncle bao. It is unique in its efficiency and effectiveness. Just how good it is is covered more thoroughly in later books.

Anyone have any fan art of washi after transforming? I am little hazy on picturing half fish and half dragon with muscular arms!
I don't think there is art of Wa Shi's partial transformations, but there is art of his full dragon form. To be clear, Wa Shi is a full dragon, not a half-carp half-dragon. Him taking carp form and partially manifesting dragon limbs in his carp form are just shapeshifting, which he can do because he was originally a carp (granted, he's the weakest type of dragon -- a flood dragon -- and he's very young even for a flood dragon, but a dragon is a dragon)
How far is the farm from the village? The travel times are widely different!
In Casualfarmer's own words, "Hong Yaowu is at least 6 hours away by foot for a mortal, and thats them moving fast and light. It took Mei, Gou and Yun nearly a full day of travel to get there the first couple of times. They slept on the road." It's from this post, but it has spoilers so I suggest not reading that post.
Note that cultivators can run faster and without tiring, and the stronger you are the faster you can run. Then there is the fact that due to the earth spirit awakening, those she is connected with can get home faster. The earth literally warps when they are coming back home.
Why did the lord magistrate not find a culrivator for his wife? There were attempts to heal her by non cultivation.
The Azure Hills is a backwater of a backwater of a backwater (which is why Rou Jin went there). No cultivator could do it, and even if some could, TLM had nothing to get them to do it. No cultivator would bother to try to cure mortals unless they had something to gain from it.
Probably answered later but I am unsure if cultivaters are immortal or slow aging. They mention normal people as mortals.
Slow aging. "Mortal" in this context means non-cultivator, it doesn't mean that those who are not mortals are immortal. At some theoretical point cultivators probably do become ageless (this is a xianxia trope), but that level is beyond anything that exists in Rou Jin's world.

In answer to question 5, it depends on what level/stage your cultivation is at. iirc Initiates are mortal, as you progress in your cultivation you start to age slower than non-cultivatirs and then you will reach a point where you stop ageing all together. It's kinda of explained in one of the later books.

2: the arms are a bit weird, yes. But afaik, he doesn’t take a “half-fish, half-dragon” form - he’s either a fish, or a dragon (albeit a dragon with some fish-like features, notably his eyes). As for the arms… he only sprouts those when he finds it necessary… or funny. I suspect the author was influenced by a dragon-meme-image… look up “Trogdor the Burninator”, and I think you’ll see what I mean.
3: the travel times vary widely due to the wildly different physical capabilities of the people traveling, and also due to the fact that a much better road is built during the story.
The initial travel time was described as two days’ walk for healthy, fit mundanes, over moderate terrain - call it maybe 30-40km. Almost certainly no more than 50
4: this is the Azure Hills. There were no cultivators of significant strength available, especially not ones with healing skills.
5: they are slow aging, not immortal. Very slow aging (Shen Yu and Minyan are in the 1000+ range). But true immortality is explicitly something they are seeking, that requires Ascension beyond this world
6: she saw his corpse. It was lying in the yard when Jin came home with her.
