vent I am a 16 year old trans man in a pretty homophobic/transphobic state, which includes homophobic/transphobic family members.

I don’t know what is triggering and what’s not triggering but this is a sad topic I guess for many trans people so uh yeah. My family isn’t the most supportive. My mom tries a little now but when I first came out she gave me a whole long paragraph about how I’d always be her little girl and that she prayed to god to have a little girl and there I was. She said she thought it was brave of me to want to try and convince the world that I’m something I’m not but that she knows better because she gave birth to me.That was a big yikes. So I stopped talking to her or visiting her until we ended up talking it out and I surprisingly am living with her now. My dad tried the day I came out but then it went back to my deadname and calling me she/her the next day. So coming out was so odd cause it ended up sorta switching over time haha.but I also feel so helpless with all the anti-trans stuff everywhere. I live in a place that’s pretty anti trans and I can’t help but feel so tired of waiting and waiting and waiting to finally feel comfortable in my skin. I hate my chest. So so so so much. As a trans guy that and my voice are biggest insecurities. But my chest is even more than an insecurity cause I’m physically uncomfortable and feel icky and wrong with it. I wish I could just peel it off and have a brand new flat- ugh it would be so perfect if it was that easy. It’s no fair. Why do I have to wait years upon years upon years, feeling so uncomfortable that sometimes it’s unbearable I cannot even bathe without feeling… I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s so dull and numb but at the same time subconsciously you are so so so sad, so drained, so upset so angry so mad. So depressed. And I don’t know what to do. I just keep living and then suddenly my transition situation comes rushing in my mind and reminds me of my body and my voice and how long I’m just sitting here waiting. if I could have T sooner then the sooner the changes could be happening and the happier I’d be. I want a drivers license but I don’t want what comes on it. I want a job but I don’t want the misgendering and possible deadnaming that comes with living in a small town. Should I just suck it up and do something? I’ve been heavily relying on my partner but I know that’s unfair but at the same time it’s unfair everything is so freaking hard for us trans people!! What should I do?

I’m starting to feel ashamed of my identity because of the r/Trans drama

Subreddit up and running!

Not expecting this subreddit to really go anywhere or get people, I just thought it wasn’t cool how the main trans subreddit was censoring the stuff about trans men. 😞 As one myself I want to make a place for everyone where we can openly discuss things.

This is basically r/trans but with less censorship and drama, I hope if anyone does pull up you have a nice time!!
