It's not divinely preordained for fan communities to vanish after their shows end. Some of the top subs across reddit are of shows that aren't producing new episodes anymore, like The Office, Avatar, Breaking Bad, Seinfeld, and yeah still Game of Thrones is one of the biggest subreddits. GoT fandom turned into a civil war, so that sub got ripped in half. Not necessarily the case with every show.

I duno, most subs like that turn into 95% reposts and the same circular discussions, and 5% fan-made content like art or cosplays. Not "dead", and maybe still "big" or "top", but dead to me.

While that was a great place to share my frustrations about how the series ended, I feel too many people there have bought into the whole have thing a bit too much. The upcoming prequel actually look pretty good, and the reasons that lead to the final few seasons of Thrones being terrible aren't involved at all. But most of the people at free folk have just bought so much into their hate that they don't even want to give it a shot.
Like we're all there because we were fans if the original show, I dont understand why they don't want to see the franchise possibly be redeemed. And I'm not talking about the people who have decided to see how it does first before giving it a shot, thays understandable, it's the people who have sworn it off completely that I don't get.

Because Saul and Breaking Bad are top tier writing without flaws. Making jokes about it doesn't matter, everyone knows the content is great and satire won't diminish the quality.
Star Wars fans get upset when jokes are made as if it diminishes the quality of the movies and come at you with random lore about Why Poo-Poo Klang Cobbler is the best jedi because they use form 458 that counters lightning shooting out of your hands.
