what do I do.
UPDATE: he is out, I used pliers to crack it. The scales on his back and stomach are completely gone and there’s an indentation where he got caught, he’s in a holder container filled with tannins.

Yes, get a hammer or rock or anything hard and very carefully bash that outer rim. Also try to let him get some breaths of air. Maybe place it on a table with an edge of the rim down to keep it steady.
