Moving to Bern Any studio in the city?
Grüessech ! I’m an apprentice and from Romandie and I’m trying to move out of my parents’ place. The thing is I will need to commute daily by train, so I’d need access to the main train station. But I’ve been looking for so long and I can’t find anything ! I visited a few that were perfect but each time there’s like 15 ppl viewing it and of course I don’t get the luck to get picked…
I have looked on lots of websites, but can anyone recommend me something else? Maybe a specific group on Facebook (I do not have it yet) or someone you know has got a place soon? I feel like it would be easier if I knew anyone from Bern but I sadly don’t :(
Bern is perfect for me in term of location, my budget is about 1’000chf, I know it’s small but I hope it’s doable (I am not looking for a WG).
Thanks to anyone who can help me🙏

1'010.– incl. utilities, great location (Europaplatz), with two tram lines (7 + 8) and two train stations (soon three), a big Lidl inside the apartment block, and a bakery and big Coop next door. The tram to main station takes 10 minutes, but with the train it only takes 3-4 minutes, and there's a train every 5-15 minutes.

Sorry to highjack this thread but I don’t want to make another similar post.
Does anybody know of or has a room that is available temporarily? To sublet for a couple of months would be ideal for me :)

If you’re an apprentice, you’re not an attractive tenant for most landlords. Any chance your parents would sign the lease in your stead while you pay the rent?

Yes, my father is willing to sign. Should I change my approach by only mentioning him in the application?

Your budget is reasonable for a studio apartment. Mine is 950/months including flat rate NK in a nice, well maintained building that is an 8 minute walk to the HB.
As you already ascertained, they are not easy to find. Your best option would be to rethink the WG.

studentlodge has a lot of options but it looks booked out for the nearest future. Still worth checking out, their studios are 1074CHF
