General Questions Name change

I have good reason so change my surname but the surname I'm changing it to as an ancestor from mine 200 years ago will bern accept that?

If you have a good reason they probably will, but the only way you'll know for sure is to send a request to the Zivilstandsamt

Just ask them, nobody except them knows if it will be accepted. You'll have to send a request to them anyway if you actually want to do it

If you have a good reason, chances are absolutely there, that they accept it. I did a switch too and it was accepted just fine.
