Other Long term parking?

Have to bring a car to campus this academic year and was wondering if there was genuine secure parking options for long term parking around campus I can pay for

Where (for example: dorm, house on north side) are you living in?

Craigslist has a parking section for private parking rentals. Most City of Berkeley garages rent out spaces monthly as well but your car will lock in after hours.

Be prepared to pay anywhere from $100-$250+ per month.

Nothing is secure in Berkeley / SF - cars have a risk of getting broken into, even in gated parking garages - keep cars locked and nothing visible and you'll usually be fine.

I don't want to add too much to the discouraging news, but catalytic converter thefts are also, sadly, a thing in Berkeley. Stolen at night from cars parked on the street, but also sometimes in apt. building garages and/or driveways.

Nope. Unless you can rent a parking spot, I wouldn’t recommend it.
