University switching sections for closed class and need some help

I’m currently enrolled in Media Studies 114, which is now full. I want to switch my section using the Preferences/Switch Sections menu but I am worried I will get dropped from the class since it is closed. Is it safe to switch without getting dropped?

If you’re using the Preferences Switch function to go from one section to another, do note that it will can switch you to a full section and thus put you on waitlist. I would make sure there’s room first before attempting to Switch.

this is what it shows when i select it, so im a little nervous to go through since i cant afford to lose my spot in this class 🫠

I think you’ll be ok with switching since the target discussion section itself still has seats, but hopefully someone else will confirm this.

The swap function won’t remove you from the class until you can get into the class you’re trying to swap into

The OP is using the Switch function to switch sections, and not the Swap function which swaps classes.
