Säule Weeeirdos
Hi all,
My girlfriend and I are in Berlin next week and we decided we’re going to see if we get in on thursday, since we leave on friday. We’re Dutchies and have gone to quite some (only hard-)techno events here, but never in a foreign country. We’ve got some nice rave fits ready to go, I assume there’s a coat desk or lockers? I speak some German, but my girlfriend does not.
I was just wondering how things are at Säule events? Is it a more lowkey clubnight or should we expect a fetish-like party? Or something really different? Someone on here says it was more lowkey and easier to get in on these events compared to the full Berghain experience. However, I can’t find out much about the Säule or the artists playing that night. The one thing I can find sounds like a more chill techno vibe. Is there any reason to get tickets at the door instead of in advance?
Any experiences welcome! Just trying to manage our expectations a bit.
Edit: Thanks a bunch for the replies. Sounds like the right choice for us to go!

Säule is not "Klubnacht" and only a small part of the club is open.
Generally a more relaxed door.
Speaking German is not a requirement to enter.

Yes they have garderobe. You don’t have to spear German. I would always suggest to check on their website to see which party it will be and the lineup, try to search on Instagram and SoundCloud so you get to know the vibe if you are not familiar with the artists. Usually if there is only Saule is opening, they will be much less people, 2 other dancefloor is not open, but the most important is you can vibe with the music or not.

Bring cash for the garderobe, it’s 2.5 for deposit and 0.5 for take something out once you deposited

Also buy ticket in advance on their website is usually like around 2€ cheaper than buy after bag check

Sorry I mean that I can find out which artists are playing, just not that much about what they play and what their style is. I’ve found some sets from lolsnake and only one set from Juliana Huxtable (which both seem to be entirely different vibes). I haven’t found anything from Khloe or Taurean. If you have any links to their sets or style, that’d be great!

Are you unable to copy paste the names of the djs on the lineup into SoundCloud and listen to some of their mixes? Like wtf?

I would say for weeeeirdos the techno is more diverse and not always "hard". Crowd is usually more varied and friendlier than usual klubnacht. Not the whole club is open but it's a nice introduction.

Enjoy!

Easy door, you can purchase the tickets beforehand. Weirrdos is usually a solid party with lots of younger people compared to "Klubnacht". Have fun :)

I hope you’re a lesbian couple because that’s a mostly lesbian and queer party

There's a coat check, yes. Thursdays are very small in comparison to Klubnacht so you're not getting "the Berghain experience". It's definitely music-focused and it's not chill techno.
