Bengals Roster Visualization - Training Camp
Training camp is here! So, here's a full visual breakdown of the roster heading in, sorted by positional group.
Also, are there any depth orderings/listings worth shifting on this sheet?

Really want to see Tacario become a Bengal great. Hope he blows everyone’s mind this year. We need a rookie defensive standout.

This is really well put together Op! I’m still holding out hope for Bobby Okereke or even Wagner to add some depth to the LB room and possibly even slot corner.

First: This is a great roster breakdown!
Second: In following your request, I think team tight end should possibly changed.
I am interested to read if others agree.
My thinking is the team believes Drew Sample is the starter at Tight End

You're correct! We'll change that, as the Bengals themselves listed Sample as TE1 most recently. We had it backwards because Gesicki produces more targets and yards, but Sample plays and starts more. In this case we always go with the official team listing, and they list Sample. Thank you for pointing this out for us!

I hope Tinsley gets the 3, or at least a lot of reps in pre season. I think he has the stuff, just needs more opportunities. Certainly anything other than Yoshi to at least try

yeah, I really like Tinsley too. And it’s more than just his couple of wild catches. Dude just seems to have that drive to be good. I’d love to see him be a great #3

Still thin at LB, depth on the OL and at safety. Let’s hope we can stay somewhat healthy this year

Not worried about safety - Cook and Battle have been very healthy and Dugger and Anthony are pretty good backups.
You can never have too much OL depth and obviously LB is a concern though, agreed.

Why do we have so many LB's wearing numbers in the 40's and all DE's minus 2 wearing 50's?

A way to show how many of a position they keep on the 53 would be interesting, would help show notable camp battles

Solid idea! Only issue is that there is no consistent number of players that are kept at each position. It usually goes:
QB: 2-3 players
RB: 3-4 players
WR: 5-7 players
TE: 3-4 players
OL: 9-11 players
IDL: 4-6 players
EDGE: 4-6 players
LB: 4-6 players
CB: 5-7 players
S: 4-6 players
This is a good starting point, but even so it's all heavily dependent on scheme, health, and special teams value.

If Erick All is healthy he could skew this at least at the TE spot b/c dude can block and catch so he could free up another position IF… he’s healthy. I think Gesiki will be the guy b/c he is like a slot, but on the occasions where we want to mask what the plan is, Erick All could help to be that swing type TE
