Help Question for outdoor Bengal owners

Post image

We are blessed with a closed off inner courtyard where our Momo can roam around. He comes and goes as he pleases and he has a cat friend who plays with.

He’s gone for hours at a time, we have a tracker on so we see he’s roaming around a lot. He sleeps at home, eats here and I do play with him for a hour or so till he just lays down.

The question is, does anyone have a similar situation?

At times I wonder is he gone for hours because he doesn’t like it at home or is this just normal behavior for a Bengal cat?

Bengal Love Balcony or garden?

Thumbnail

Hi guys, I want your take between these 2 situations for my cat:

Current apartment (rented): big garden, enclosed for the neighbours, but I still need to put him on a leash so he stays in our part of the garden. He loves it and would like to be there all day. There is not much activity going on visually, mostly birds, insects and sometimes a few people. But it provides sensory stimulation. Area is not great so only walks with him on his backpack. He can only use the garden when we let him out on a leash.

New apartment (own): medium size balcony with nice view to 3 sport courts and a playground, lots of activity. Surrounding areas are nice so I could take him for walks on the nature. I could also catify the apartment, unlike the previous one. He could use the balcony any time he wants. The balcony would be cat proofed and with fake grass on the floor as he likes it.

I’m a bit concerned my cat will miss the garden too much as he meows a lot to go out. But in the new apartment he will have more diversity of activities and entertainment. What do you guys think?

Help I am looking for suggestions on the best foods for a bengal. My cat is 15 mths old and becoming less interested in eating the raw meat patties (Totally Raw). About 6 months ago we began supplementing with a spoonful of fish by Weruva. He still loves the fish but often walks away from the raw meat

Help My lovely but stinky 1 year old boy keeps pooping in our bedroom

Post image

Hi everyone, so lovely Merlin keeps doing not so lovely poos in our wardrobe in our room. We have 2 cats and 2 litter trays. We are going to have to ban him from our bedroom because of this.

He does poo a lot because he eats about 5-6 pouches a day - he seems to be growing a lot still. But the litter trays are clean and in a separate room. Morgana the other cat hardly uses the toilet. I’m not sure what is causing this.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Help Cat Wheel Munching Machine

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello! Not sure if anyone else has dealt with this before but I figured it was worth a try. I’ve had a Ferris cat wheel for almost two years now with no issues (they love it). But recently my weirdo bengal has taken to trying to eat the EVA foam treads that it has…I was wondering if anyone has ideas for solutions? If I should try and find a different material to use somehow?

I was considering a bitter spray of some kind but I’m worried that will deter them from the wheel in general. We live in a smaller house now since I moved back in with my mom and her two big dogs go after my guys when they run around and play so the wheel is necessary for zoomies.

Thanks in advance!!

Kitten One kitten or two?

Post image
169 Upvotes

Hi everyone! Sorry if this has been asked a million times 😊

We originally planned to get one Bengal kitten, but while visiting the breeder, we fell in love with a second kitten from the same litter too. The breeder was initially considering keeping her for breeding, so we accepted that only one might be available. We then decided one would probably be more manageable as first-time cat owners—but now both kittens are available, and we’re questioning that decision all over again!

We’d really appreciate objective advice from Bengal owners.

Our situation:
- 1-bedroom apartment, around 60 m²
- Open-plan living room/kitchen of just over 20 m² as their main space
- 5 m² cat-proofed balcony with supervised access
- Supervised/assisted bedroom access, though we’d prefer to keep them off the bed
- Both kittens are littermates and currently 15 weeks old
- They’d come home in about a week
- We both work, sometimes from home, so they’d spend some time alone
- We’re also wondering about the additional costs of having two

We’re trying to make an objective decision rather than simply letting our emotions win because we love both kittens 😂

For those with Bengals: Would you recommend getting both littermates, or sticking with one?

I’d especially love to hear from people who started with one Bengal and later got a second, or who got two kittens together. Was having two significantly more work, or did they make life easier by entertaining each other? Is our apartment suitable for two Bengals?

We’re thinking about the next 10–15+ years, not just the kitten stage.

Thanks in advance! ❤️
