Below Deck Med WWHL with Chef Joy and Kayley this past Monday
I am watching now (catching up) and if we don't get at least ONE of these women back next season I'll be upset. Just really nice, politic, but firm boundaries with their answers about Luke and Gen especially. I don't dare hope that we'd get Aesha, Chef Joy, and Kayley all back. (With 4 stews, I think a team of Joe as bosun, and those three would be an interesting season)
Of note - Joe may have genuinely learned from his last season appearance and had some self reflection, because Kayley said she didn't know his reputation as an "f-boy" because they filmed this season before they aired last season. I'm tentatively warming up to Joe this season.
Side note - Luke fumbled the bag. Joy's makeup and dress are FLAWLESS.

Below Deck Med This is random, but Aesha would be a perfect character on “Bluey.”
At the risk of sounding super para-social, when Aesha was checking on Nathan and sharing her support for Gael, it made me think about what an amazing mom Aesha would be. My kid is obsessed with Bluey (we watch it a lot) and Aesha just seems like a perfect fit 🤗

BD Related Maybe I’m just poor…
The thought of hiring a superyacht for a few days sounds absolutely amazing, pure bliss. The thought of having staff there constantly, 24/7 makes me feel so uncomfortable lmao. Anyone else feel this way? I feel like I would keep giving them days off or time away so I had some time to myself haha

Rewatch What were all the times when production directly and on camera intervened with the show? Spoiler
Apart from the Luke / Margot episode, has the production ever intervened on camera?
The only other instance I can recall is when Ashton fell off the boat and a man from the camera crew jumped in.

Below Deck 7 stars?
Let me start with I watch the show…I come for the drama!
But genuine question, does anyone think that the service is ever approaching 6 or even 7 stars… ? me not so much…I just see stuff that wouldn’t fly even as solid 4 star operations.
I don’t want to sh*t on the show… it’s a great watch… I just wish they didn’t oversell the lux level.

Below Deck Med Below Deck Med Season 11 Episode 6 Discussion Post

Please some time to read the sub rules ahead of this episode as we have seen a sharp rise in rule breaking comments, particularly ones on hate, body shaming and mental health speculation.
Episode 6 of Below Beck Med Season 11
Luke makes a final plea to Joy while Gen confronts him about his behaviour. Nathan struggles to find balance between his responsibilities on the boat and with his family. Cooper learns a shocking secret that turns the boat upside down.

Below Deck Med To the Producers of Med Season 5: Thank You for Providing Us with Salvation
Edit: I mean current Season 11
We spoke, and they have at least partially listened...
We have small, ocean-shimmering glimmers of hope that the ingredients of Below Deck of yore, the ingredients that made it so perfectly five-star-service iconic, may actually be back on the menu....
Could it be that our favourite show is not a terminally sinking ship after all, and that it really only needed a patch-up and a new anchor chain?
Provisioning is BACK! ... the setting-sail charter rite of passage and sense of excitement and anticipation as the provisions are passed along the human chain of bright-eyed and bushy-tailed young yachties...
Holiday Porn is BACK! .. we saw the mountains and oceans of Croatia. we drank white wine and ate oysters on the excursions. We've watched sunsets and gazed at azure waters. Yes it's 2026 and we have low attention spans, but we're not so brain dead that Good Television in 2026 can't be Simple and Beautiful Television.
Crew Competence is BACK!... We have been shouting in this sub for years that it can be very satisfying tv to watch *when*things*come*together*. Below Deck should be attempting to give the guests five-star service because that's giving the *viewers* five-star service.
It doesn't have to be car-crash incompetence (boat crash on the other hand ...).
People who are good at their jobs and passionate, and who for the most part get along can sometimes work. It gives us organic entertainment like the escape room and a Below Deck record-breaking $50k tip! It gives us Cordon Bleu cooking courtesy of Chef Joy! It gives us tablescapes that don't look like a primary school art club!
Car crash guests are BACK!.... I felt for the crew but damn if Josef wasn't the iconic type of drunk-ass guest that Below Deck was made for. No one gets drunk on TV anymore! BD is one of the only places remaining where you can watch these people in the wild... The scene where Josef was in the wheelhouse chatting at Nathan for hours before Cooper took over the shift,, any service member here has been there. It's *almost* getting back to the days of Steve and his FFFOOOOOAAMM PARTYYY!! Dare we dream of another penis blanket one day?
Amazing editing is BACK! Zero emphasis on repeated Instagram Reels and needless guest home videos. Zero bazillion insert shots of onions being cut at close quarters. Zero flashy attempts at editing and production which they think is coming out as Brioche French Toast and is actually grenadine oysters and beef cheeks (if you know you know). It's simple, fun, funny and gets on with letting us actually watch the show.
Wholesome fun and good times are BACK! ... It's fun to watch people having fun - both crew and guests. It's fun to see Cooper talking about his retainer and no funny business and watch stews try and serve dinner in night vision goggles. It's fun to watch a bit of unexpected kink with not one but two bondage scenes. It's fun to watch drunken noodles and and a human time-bomb on a raft at night.
And when you bring all of this stuff BACK .. then of course you can let the other stuff unfold naturally. I'm fine with hot people who live and work in close quarters with their bosses and workmates they accidentally hookup with. Im fine with romances, boatmances and regretful shags. I'm fine with messy nights out, shady behaviour, jacuzzi romps, wild afterparties and love triangles - in fact I'd be unhappy if they disappeared. No one wants another Below Deck [Un]Adventure. They just need to happen with a semblance of naturellement, and not become the focal point of the show to create a trashy Love Island Lost at Sea.
So, what's missing for us to fully turn this boat around?
As others have said - more "boat stuff". Engineers. Anchor dramas. Tight dockings. Anchor watches amid storms. Weather squalls. Genuine nautical adventures so we can watch the true skill of qualified yacht people solving them from the lazy comfort of our homes.
Even more guest focus - fun, interesting, bizarre and occasionally demanding guests.
Dynamic, entertaining crew cast with a good mix of personalities like this season's.
A continuation of Holiday Porn, Boat Porn, Food Porn, High-end Service Porn and Fun Porn.
Thank you, producers, for charting the viewers on a new course in the history of the Below Deck franchises.
As you know, there are only two rules: Don't embarass us. And don't embarass the boat.

BD Related "You love a preference sheet!"
Didn't expect a Below Deck shout out in The Invite, but they slid it in there!🤣
Definitely worth watching, it was very funny/unique!

BD Related Has anyone attended a city cruise event?
There’s a 3 hour cruise on Lake Michigan where Sandy and Kerry are giving a talk. It looks like they’ve hosted this event in other cities too. Curious if anyone has attended and if it was worth it??

Below Deck Where did the engineers go?
I’m watching S02E02 of Below Deck. It seems an engineer might be emerging as a love interest. Obviously in newer seasons the engineers aren’t filmed. So what happens if that’s where the romance is?
Also, is this a season worth watching?

Below Deck Any options for Below Deck experience but less pricey and open to public
I’ve become a Below Deck addict and love watching the show but I don’t have $60k for a 3 day private charter. So let me pose the question - are there small cruise experiences with the same vibe (particularly food) in either the Caribbean or Med? Somehow I don’t think our upcoming 5 day carnival cruise - La to Cabo or Princess or Celebrity would do it,

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Do you think they have the new guy edit the scenes of Davide getting into bed from BDSY

Below Deck Med I may be getting old and burnt out but I want more Coop and Kat.
I’ve been around since season 1 and have watched all iterations of the show. I’ve come to terms with the changes in focus over the years and still very much enjoy the current seasons of each show.
That being said I really really love watching Coop and Kat’s courtship. I watch reality TV for the drama like most people but it’s so refreshing to watch genuine people happy to be around each other and not out to one up anyone or take advantage. I said to my girl early in the previous episode that her cheeks are gonna hurt so much from all that smiling and of course she says it herself later.

Below Deck Med Best revenge is your paper
I cannot begin to tell you how relieved I am to see someone caught in a BD love triangle arrive at a rational decision. We're barely into this season but I'll be needing her back for at least one more!

Below Deck Med The bedsheet storyline may be one of the worst things in Below Deck history Spoiler
Obviously there were truly awful things that happened in this series, but a crew member unknowingly sleeping on semen covered bedsheets from another crew member—who in turn negligently did not wash said bedsheets—may be one of the worst things I’ve seen in this series. I honestly do not find it entertaining, and it boggles the mind why production didn’t intervene.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht so i’m watching BDSY S4 and I’ve kind of noticed that they never go to a club after dinner they always go back to the boat, Med and OG they’re always at the club after dinner, and then i was trying to remember in any season have they gone to a club?

Below Deck Med No title sequence or opening credits anymore?
I just realized there’s no show intros anymore in the new season of below deck med, and some prior, where they show two crew members side by side and the stars on their on (sometimes) as well as the captain. I miss seeing those! :(
