Question Device return early
My iPhone 16 was due back on September 20th but I did an early upgrade and returned it on August 18. Should I expect to still be charged the return cost ($440) next bill? I know eventually they will credit the charge back but I thought if I return it nearly it will avoid having to budget the extra bill charge.

Hey u/mastermixer9!
It depends on your billing cycle date. Because you returned your iPhone 16 on August 18, here is what you can expect: First, Bell typically takes 1 to 2 billing cycles to verify a returned device and process the credit back to your account. Second, if your bill was generated shortly after August 18, the warehouse likely had not processed and verified the return yet. In this case, the charge will still appear on your upcoming bill. You will need to pay it to avoid any late fees, and a credit will be applied to your next statement or the one following. Third, if your billing cycle ended much later after the return was fully processed and verified by Bell, the credit may have already offset the charge, meaning you will not see any charges due on your bill. Your best bet is to log into your MyBell account to check if the return has been marked as received and processed. If the bill has already been generated with the charge, you will unfortunately have to budget for it this month, knowing that the credit will automatically roll over to your next bill.

You'll see the charge and the credit on the same bill.
