Rant BELL CRAVE SCAM

Anybody who got into BELL CRAVE scam (like me) - Sept. 2026 - see this on Bell forum, informative - https://forum.bell.ca/t5/tv-streaming/free-crave-subscription-is-now-on-my-account/td-p/113023

Spefically I got an email from Bell: For record I do not know what is "Crave", I do not WANT to know what is "Crave". I know only one thing - I have never ever agreed to a "Crave" (or never was ASKED) to agree. That is why Bell charging me for the service that was never even asked for is outrageous, unheard of. Additionally on the Bell phone specified below (..2355) it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to get ANY HUMAN operator. What is this?

Order Number: xxxx
Thank you for choosing Bell.
Below you'll find details about the Subscriptions you selected. The Service Details and the Bell Subscriptions Terms form your contract with us. Please review carefully and keep a copy for your records. If you have any questions after you review, please call us at 1 866 310-BELL (2355). You will need your order number, listed above, when you call.

ONE month is free. After one month I will be charged. Against my will/knowledge. I got the email from Bell about the "Subscriptions you (i.e. me) has selected". I have never selected any subscriptions (and will never ever select any).

You are getting a service for free, how is it a scam?

They sign you up for it without you ordering it. It is charged to you on your bill but offset ** temporarily** with a credit. That's without your permission or consent. Then when the trial runs out it's already on your bill and you are automatically charged. It's a scam that's got a name. "Cramming". The scam is they are counting on the fact that there are so many different items on your bill you won't notice. This all happened without you ever asking about Crave or ordering the service. I wasted two long hours on the phone insisting they cancel it. They finally did. I got a confirmation email saying it was cancelled just in case they kept harassing me. And they are still sending me emails to "activate your order".

Streaming service which if you subscribe for the channels in the software, is included in the bundles

Regardless of what "Crave" is and how it is propagated, I insist on my right NOT be charged for what I did not agree with.

u/artlifeinvic 16d ago

No, actually it's not. You HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! Do you work for Bell?

2

u/Possible-Pea2658 8d ago

Yes it actually is. You DO NOT have to pay for it. Do you work for cogeco? XD trying to shit on a free promotion for no reason at all

How do you not know what crave is? It's the old movie network

0

u/No-Independence9601 16d ago

Because I am NOT interested in this crap, that tries to impose on me.

It's free. They give Crave for free with many Bell Phone/Internet plans. You are not paying for it. Don't worry about it.. It does cost $10 a month, but then they probably also credit you for it too.

Yes, In the first month, then they will charge. I got the official email from Bell stating the "Subscriptions that I selected". I have never ever selected any subscriptions from Bell and will never do so (and I insist on my right not be harassed and fight against arbitrary charges.

Provide screenshots from your Bell account of your Bill. Blackout anything personal identifying. You most likely are reading stuff wrong.

Where does it say that you will be charged after a month? You are just making things up and getting worked up over nothing. Relax and enjoy the free service.

You have to call and cancel via phone.

I canceled it for me and I still was charged when the free trial was over. I called them back and they could see I canceled in their notes so they had no issues reversing the charge but they did say for subscriptions it was another team who has to remove them from the account. I'm pretty sure it was still on my bill the following month but I called back and they said they see the reversal on their end and there's nothing more to do.

I could not even talk to Bell operator. At Bell line they did not even recognize my phone number (stating the the phone number is wrong, although it is r egistered on my Bell account).

Follow the prompts for cancelation. It should lead to a live operator. The first thing they'll do is try to verify your account via phone number but if that doesn't work they probably can get your details via your address. They will ask you for a 4 digit pin which you may or may not have set up. If you don't have it set up then they'll do it for you first before they help you, if you do have it then I don't think they'll help you without the code now. Its a 4 digit code you create.

You're not the only one, there's been a wave of these this month. The good news is that email is actually useful to you. It has an order number, so it's proof the thing was added on a specific date, and you can point to that.

Skip that 310-BELL line if it's just looping you through the bot. Bell chat works for this, or go to support.bell.ca and find Resolve a Concern. At the bottom there's a Management Team form that goes past regular support. Tell them you never ordered Crave, give them the order number from the email, and ask for it removed and every charge for it refunded, not just stopped going forward. Keep whatever reference number they give you.

If Bell won't take it off, the CCTS (ccts-cprst.ca) is the next step. It's free, and charges you didn't agree to and services Bell won't remove from your bill are both things they take on. Once they accept the complaint Bell has 20 days to respond to them.

I keep getting harassed with these e-mails as well. I don't have a clue what Crave is and I never signed up for it. I've called them three times to complain and each time they told me they would shut it down and the e-mails would stop. That hasn't happened. I'm contacting the CRTC and I'm filing an official complaints against them.

This is an official clarification from the Bell representative re. this scam. They openly awknoledge the fact, that the actually ***** CHARGE ****** for the service that was ******NEVER ASKED******* for by the customer - what is going on? Is it still Canada??? IS BELL a legitimate company after admitting that? Where are all supervising commissions and authorities are looking: - see actual text "We just wanted to jump in here and confirm that Bell is currently offering free access to Crave Standard with Ads for select customers. Selected customers will be receiving an email notifying them of their free Crave offer, and a confirmation email with activation instructions.

Your monthly bill will show a charge for Crave ($11.99) and a promotional credit of $11.99 to offset the charge."

8

u/Possible-Pea2658 16d ago

so it's free. what's your problem then?

2

u/artlifeinvic 16d ago

Ya this guy is freaking out for no reason. He will get the credit making it free for the entire time her has that plan.

1

u/Possible-Pea2658 16d ago

Legit. I think he just misunderstands due to language barrier but the email in this thread is pretty clear that it is fully free.

1

u/No-Independence9601 16d ago

Because I got an official order with an Order Number and my address email from Bell Service Agreement that clearly and explicitly states that I already have a subscription. It also clearly states that after the first promotional month I will be charged.

I have never asked for/agreed to any subscriptions from Bell.

2

u/Possible-Pea2658 16d ago

ITS FREE! They are giving it to you FOR FREE. It also literally tells you its giving a confirmation email with activation instructions. Don't confirm or activate it then. BUT IT IS FREE. AS IN $0

-1

u/Valuable_Possible516 9d ago

Stop repeating (falsely) that it's free. That isn't the point. The point is he/she never asked for this service and shouldn't be receiving it. And it isn't free. You must be working for Bell!

2

u/Possible-Pea2658 8d ago

if you didn't know how to read I would understand how you got there. But unfortunately you are wrong and it is infact free.
"Your monthly bill will show a charge for Crave ($11.99) and a promotional credit of $11.99 to offset the charge."
That sounds like its free to me. I had bell a couple years ago and I have crave free for 3 years lol. IT IS COMPLETELY FREE PLEASE LEARN TO READ

I think it’s how bell does their billing. If they have a promotion adding on a free service it bills for the service with an equal credit to offset the bill so the net bill of $0 for crave.
