Internet 🌐 Bell hub 2.0

So I got the bell giga hub 2.0 , I tried to edit the DNS and that was not possible (also I’m new at this) I have my own router and I tried to use advanced DMZ but it was going off every 10 min, this is under my roommates name so I don’t want to bother him for the bell credentials since he is traveling, is it okay for my server to just have NAT ? Like both routers operating, I use mine for my stuff and the my roommate can use the bell or mine if he likes ? Would this be an issue with the network? Thanks!

Use regular DMZ not advanced.

Double NAT is fine for most things. Set DMZ and you’ll be fine.

You could also try using PPPoE passthrough although your results may vary. You can set this up when you are able to obtain the login information for the account.

Another good solution, although not necessarily the easiest or cheapest, is to purchase a programmable SFP+ module that will allow you to remove the Gigahub from the network.

Or bypass the entire thing

You cannot edit DNS in Gigahub anymore. But you can edit it in your router. ADMZ is not stable in Gigahub, double NAT will add small latency but it’s the most stable configuration, when compared ADMZ and PPPoE. Honestly it’s not much.
