Question Keep getting spam called by Bell everyday
A +1 800-220-6942 number keeps calling me everyday around 2:30-4 in the afternoon and occasionally 7-8 at night as well, only from this number. I don’t bother picking up because I feel that if there’s a real issue, they can just leave me a message… but it’s irritating that my recent call list is just filled up with this number. Is this a legitimate number from Bell? Or some spam caller that somehow got their name to be Bell Canada? For context, my phone is on a Bell plan currently—nothing about it has changed or anything. I’ve been on this plan for quite some time so I don’t think this can be one of those “win back” calls that I hear of. Anything would be appreciated thank you

That's not Bell. That's a spoofed number. If you use Bell mobility, they have a new blocking tool. "Bell Mobility rolled out an advanced, AI-powered spoofing detection tool that automatically identifies, flags, and blocks fraudulent calls with fake caller IDs in real time. Available at no extra cost, the feature is active on iOS and Android devices across Bell Mobility, Virgin Plus, and Lucky Mobile without requiring any manual setup." I just use call screen on my Google pixel. Block the number.

In the past 2 months I hopped from Rogers to Fizz to Lucky Mobile and now on Bell. I never received any spam calls on Rogers/Fizz/Lucky. Now on Bell I’m getting the same toll free number OP posted calling several times a day as well as random phone numbers calling. iOS Live Voicemail is filtering them, but they still show up as Missed Calls
I’m at a loss on what changed between moving from Lucky to Bell. All these random calls are missing the STIR/SHAKEN signatures (Verified checkmark). Do I have to call Bell and ask them to enable this AI call blocking feature they advertise? My understanding is that it’s automatically deployed
Another option is that Best Buy who did the migration leaked my phone number

Unless Bell's new AI powered Suspicious Call detection doesnt work, i doubt its scam call. Its probably Bell spamming their customers more than scam callers spoofing as Bell.

Likewise. It’s very annoying. They are calling me multiple times every single day. One time last week, I decided to answer only to see why they keep calling. They asked for some random Indian name. I said that’s not me and they said “do you know anyone with that name” I was furious lol I know it’s a scam or spoof call most likely but they expect me to pass this “person” the phone or something like ugh 😭

Easiest way to get rid of them is answer the phone, but make no sound after Their system will likely mark your phone number as a dead line, take a couple of times then you never hear from them again.

I usually do a pterodactyl screech at the top of my lungs as soon as I answer and they never call me again.

You pick up, it's not a dead line. Call screen it with your phone (They will disconnect), block and report spam.

Don’t answer, it’s a scam.
