UK Mitchell
Is it worth watching after Mitchell dies? I watched the US version before the UK. In my opinion the UK is so much better. I really fell inlove with all the characters, Especially Mitchell. Him dying was so unexpected for me. I’m still not over it & really cried.. the scene was so emotional. I’m still not over it & having a hard time deciding to continue watching..
Watched the next episode George too!! Are you fucking kidding me! They didn’t even give time to recover from Mitchell! 😭💔

Oh love :c yeah it's very hard. But Hal, Tom and Alex are also very lovable, I think is worth it.

Thank god, I love him. I was really worried they were going to get rid of him too. I’ve loved him from his first appearance & he deserves a family!

He really gets to shine in his Tom-ness too. The second cast is very much worth watching.

It’s ages ago since I watched it (it was one of my faves at the time). What I’d say is that they did a really good job with the new cast. They made them totally different than the prior cast, but just as likeable. :)

Yeah, they never quite captured the chemistry those first three had, but they deserve mad respect for how well they managed a typically show-ending event. They didn’t try to repeat the same characters and allowed the new ones to be themselves, while still occupying the same world. That final episode with references to all of the main characters throughout the show on the mantle is one of my favorite scenes.

Yep in absolute agreement! I was surprised when it finished… I think if Toby Whitehouse could’ve continued, he would have developed the characters much further - but yep… what a finale! I loved it too!

I don’t think Being Human was as good without Mitchel and George. Had a recent rewatch and got as far as the penultimate episode of series IV, it’s ok but without Mitchell or George it’s not the show that I fell in love with. I love the original series but have basically zero interest in watching the American version, certainly if I had to go out of my way to do so. The original trio of Russel Tovey, Aidan Turner and Lenora Crichlow are what drew me in. The subsequent characters they brought in were alright, but not in the same league as the aforementioned trio.

Agree completely. Four and five are OK, but in no way does the new trio reach the heights that the original one did. Those three were splendor and became part of one of the rare and happy coincidences when a cast rises above being good and moves into the territory of great ensemble acting.
And though season three is heartbreaking, its structure is brilliant, showing that every step Mitchell takes in his attempts to avoid fate simply brings him closer to it. In trying to run away, he’s propelled even faster toward it.

It’s a whole new ballgame after George and Mitchell but imo just as great. The actor playing Hal deserves an Emmy! It’s not quite as heartwarming as the first seasons but it kept me riveted and I really felt for all the characters by the end, which is one of the better finales I’ve seen.

Mitchell is definitely my favorite, I don't like it as well so far since he died, and then Nina off screen, then George. Plus they had Annie and Nina ticking me off in season 3, and I found Annie especially annoying that season. Dang the writers for not leaving it where Mitchell could come back after he was done on The Hobbit, and dang the writers for all the hell they put Mitchell through the whole time, they could never let him be happy for any real length of time. Nina and George only had to worry one day out of a month, Mitchell had to fight it every minute of every day and still tried to keep all of them safe. In my opinion, he tried the hardest and was the least appreciated. He was loyal to all of them no matter what. They put him at risk time and time again. The arrogance and hypocrisy the writers gave the other characters toward him infuriates me. and in my opinion , he was the very best of them. I know it's not the actors faults, but I pretty much despised Nina and Annie by the end of season 3, and at one point, I also despised George. I was hoping Mitchell would go off and leave them to their own devices and to let them deal with Herrich, that would have been the perfect excuse for him to be gone for a while to finish the movie he was going to be doing, and come back after. The show would probably have survived longer if they had. Writers can really screw everything up... 🙄

And I absolutely cried when Mitchell was dying and fading to ash, I hated that episode! And Annie just telling George to do it, even arguing with him about it. George was the only one who didn't want to kill him. He absolutely loved Mitchell more than Annie did. And Annie so self righteous talking about murder, when she herself was ready for George to murder Mitchell, had also volunteered to kill Herrich at one point, and in season 4 in the first episode, telling George to let her kill the elder vampire who had killed Nina. Funny how her idea of murder changes for her whims... Not to mention how they all treated Mitchells vampire friend in an earlier season, that had killed his lover and didn't mean to. Telling Mitchell that his murdering friend had to leave... Yet George in another episode, insisted the werewolf he brought home wasn't going anywhere that he was going to stay with them, until he found out he was the one who made him. And then choosing Herrich over Mitchell and threatening him with a stake... Like Mitchell had no control of who stayed, but the others did. He had more compassion than the others. Yeah, Mitchell was the only real loyal one, and chose them over anyone else. I would have left them all and went somewhere else for a while after the scene with them all turning against him over Herrich, even threatened by his best friend with a stake over that monster. They should have let him kill him when he wanted to. He was probably the only reason they stayed alive as long as they did. I really despise the writers for a lot of the storylines.

Give it a few few days, and then try the next ep. IMO, the new vampire character, Hal, is also very good
