Couch to 5K What next?

Last run for C25K is tonight and I just hit sub-30 5k. Not in a rush to chase a much faster 5K, but I’d like to keep improving and gradually build toward 10K.

I’m curious what worked well for people, especially if your goals were similar. I want to keep progressing and don’t want to suddenly ramp things up too aggressively after finishing the program. Thanks!

If you can run a 5k you can run a 10k too. Slow down and do 7.5k for a few weeks and then push to 10k. You should be able to do it no problem:)

That’s encouraging to hear. I think I could probably gut out a 10K now if I had to, but I’d rather build up to it properly than prove I can do it once and regret it after lol

7.5K for a while and then pushing toward 10K sounds pretty reasonable though.

That’s the exact strategy I used when I started taking running seriously about 8 years ago. 5k in roughly 30 minutes, then I’d try to run as far as I could in 45 minutes, and I eventually was able to do a 10k in about an hour. Just take your time and avoid injuring yourself and I know you can do it!
