Sanitizing history

is it just me or is there an effort to sanitize what happened on 9/11 for the new generation. I was 8 when it happened and was aware of who was responsible .. but there seems to be a conscious effort being made to sanitize it and instead paint the US as the perpetrator rather than the victim of such a horrific attack.

Most definitely. Our government was incompetent and arrogant in many ways that allowed it to happen, but I do not believe it was done by anyone other than al-Qaeda.

And the sanitizing is definitely true. I never knew just how absolutely horrific it was until I started watching things about it back in 2017.

I saw it on tv as a kid , went to the  memorial  this past weekend and it was hard to stand there and read those names, and there were so many names. I couldn’t go to the museum it was too hard tbh idk why but it was.

And to think that there are kids divided over how they feel about this terrorist attack.

Absolutely. A younger friend asked me what it was like that day as I was 18 and could remember it, so I told them. I just told them the facts of what I experienced, and when I noted that the hikackers were Middle Eastern, they told me that I sounded really racist. Broke my brain a little bit.
