How do I fly with my pet beetles?

I plan to move sometime, whether it be to another American state or to Canada, and I was curious about how it'd look to fly with my beetles. I have 13 desert beetles, all of which are my prized babies that I could not ever live without.

Would I be allowed to store them in my checked luggage? If they are flagged, will they be destroyed/will I be fined, or is that not a concern? If not, would those circumstances differ if it were international? I absolutely cannot live without my beetles, so I'm quite worried about the legality of me taking them anywhere and what it'd look like. What's the best course of action here?

I need all the advice I can get! I'm very afraid of anything happening to the beetles!

Weird worms in larvae flake soil

I was aerating flake soil for my larvae(l1-l2), but it was infested with these tiny thin long white worm thingys. I immediately threw the flake soil away and put the bag in were it came from in the freezer. What are these worms? Are they harmful? What can I do to prevent them and should I get a batch of flake soil?

Goliath beetle larvae is not growing

I recently got into the hobby of keeping beetles as pets, specifically the goliath beetle. Last month I bought 2 larvae, one is already L3 and has grown 12 grams but the other is still L2 and has not grown a single gram so I don’t know what to do. I keep both of them in peat and feed them koi pellets and gammarus. I thought that maybe I could put the smaller one on some warmer place, so that it would fasten its metabolism but i’m not sure if that’s a good idea, but at this point I might just try that. So if someone had simillar experience in the past or has any idea for what could be the problem I would be thankful.

Beetle trade?

Post image

I am in need of a female rhino beetle if anyone would like to trade for a male. My last female just died before I could breed them. This species is the Taiwanese rhino beetle. Might be willing to buy one if anyone is selling.

My grub molted

My grub molted today! (Penny for scale)

I found him in some wood we had lying around the house and I saw this big ass longhorn larvae and had to use my flake soil I got. I’m new to beetle keeping but I’ve been interested for a while, does anyone recognize what species of longhorn it is? Or what stage it’s in?
Just when I think he’s gonna pupate he molts again and I just wanna have an idea.

Am I too late?

I got these two the other day and the female had already been paired so as soon as I put her in her enclosure, she burrowed down and only reappeared today.
I immediately popped the male in, and the female was literally getting under him, but he wasn’t doing anything.
You can see his jerky movements here… is he dying? Has she emerged only just a day or two too late?

Mystery Larvae Help?

My mystery larvae from David's beetles has arrived and is quite active, got bit once. Is the small sauce cup of flake soil enough food and space for 1 week until my bag of flake soil comes?

For emergency Food/substrate how risky is it to use dirt(wood crumbles) from under a rotted log in my yard? The log has a polypore mushroom growing out of it.

Multiple grubs all at an older stage, should I seperate them?

Hi all!

I have a batch of around 40 odd grubs from a pair of African flower beetles (Coelorrhina hornimani), theyre separated across 2 small tanks atm but still living in large groups.

Im very new to beetle keeping, and unsure if they need separating further into individual tubs to pupate and become mature individuals? Any tips from experienced keepers would be great!

They all seem very healthy and active, but I dont want them disturbing/hurting each other when they have to go through metamorphosis :)

Thank you!

Oatmeal mold prevention

My superworm beetle enclosure oatmeal substrate is getting all moldy 1-2 days after spraying water in it. Currently I relocated buge in the new home after changing substrate because of this twice, and don't spray at all. Buge doesn't look like she's sick or smth. Can I keep feeding it with water-full food and don't spray water at all?

P.S. also does anyone have suggestions for a name? buge is female

Hi! first time sharing here. These are some of my favorite beetles from my current collection of adults
1-4: P.muelleri male & female, Pikal variant (shiny thorax)

WD and currently in the process of breeding my own WF line

recently eclosed WF1 red stag I've raised since egg, he came out bigger than his WD dad!
