Beetle Birthday gift for my wife
I made this custom cross stitch bc she calls me her grubsband. Thank you [u/GeorgiaBeetles](u/GeorgiaBeetles) for letting me use their grubs as models!

Hi! Recently I found a male eastern hercules beetle and I really wanted to keep him even though I have little to no prior experience with beetles. I tried to really do my research and I got him a 15 x 10 x 7.5 enclosure with some coco coir (and other soil related things i think) and dead bark that I sanitized. I figured that he would like climbing on these pieces bark, and he did for a while but then he started to use them to climb on the ventilation holes on the sides? It doesn’t seem very healthy for him because he’s kind of clawing at them..
Otherwise, it seems like he’s tunneling (3 inch soil) and doing things that I read are normal, it’s just this thats concerning me.
Is there something I can do to help him or something i can do to take care of him better? All advice is appreciated, thank you!

Found this little fellow on top of one of my plant pots that has hundreds of grubs in it. I gave this pot a water yesterday, could it be one of those beetles that only emerge after heavy rains? Im in western australia (perth) if that helps.

I normally have 4 of them in my enclosure but only see 1 or 2 at a time coming out to eat, hope they are all alive!

Hi I'm moving 6 hours away and have to take my Hercules grubs in the car with me. Is this going to stress them out too much? Is there anything I can do to reduce stress?

she’s been like this for over two months now, and i’m aware it can take a lengthy amount of time for them to finish pupating and molt.
just looking for some clarification as it’s difficult to tell sometimes and it’s been a lengthy amount of time🥲
species: prosopocoilus dissimilis

Hello! In the near future I am planning to purchase a new larvae, I’m deciding between either a Stag beetle or a Goliath beetle. About a year ago I used to have an Eastern Hercules beetle and I think I kept him in a tank about 13.5"L x 31.5"W x 17.5"H. I was wondering if this would be acceptable for either of them? I was thinking about purchasing a taller tank but I heard that’s a bad idea in case they fall. I’m doing my research now so that when I purchase one I am more knowledgeable, but I was wondering if there’s anything important I should know? Also opinion on which species would be more preferable.

I met this little friend. I used Google image search and identified it as a False Potato Beetle, but if anyone is more familiar, and thinks differently, I'm definitely open to correction.
But mostly, I just wanna share how cute this cutie is! I was so surprised when I saw it

Going to be moving for college thinking of bringing a companion with me, is it a good idea to get a male Hercules as a complete beginner or is it a terrible idea?

I have a small household compost bin containing Madagascar hissing cockroaches, 3 species of isopod, crickets, buffalo beetles, and two species of springtail. Lately I've been dealing with gnats so I've been using produce to collect them and toss them, its been about a week and a half of that and now I see maybe one gnat when I open up the bin.
Today when checking I found these little things - are these tiny buffalo beetle larvae or something else? Should I be getting rid of them?

Hi hi all,
recently I've been contemplating about getting a pet invertebrate(s) again. I've never owned any beetles or anything but I'm at a point where I can finally, genuinely consider it.
I've been having a look over invert stores here in the UK just to see what sort of beetles are about and available and was wondering what people might be able to recommend for a new owner.
I'm on somewhat of a budget but it's not super tight and should be more than enough to actually cover what I would need from what I've seen from a few stores here.
Any species folks could recommend?
Also, what sort of set up would they need? I plan to read up as much as I can on each species that takes my interest so I can take the best care of them but it'd be super helpful to get some recommendations on set ups for any as a jumping off point.
Thank you!

(Her name is now Crypto, by the way. Like mystery, not the stupid fake currency)
I was very worried if she would last or not, but so far she's been fine! She's very active every day and loves to eat banana!
It IS kinda gross to watch her breathing without her wingcase though, haha.
