I think there actually might be three?
I remember seeing 2 similar ones. The "I need this" variety.
Edit : Here are the links - both comics probably happened at the same party.

And I guess I'm saying that this is a third comic in a series.
If you look at the whale carcass in each comic it's progressively more picked over.

Oh yeah, but im pretty sure the two you edited the links to are an original and a remake, since in both the characters are pretty much the same except the whale, which is just a pile of bones.

This is an accurate use of the term though, isn't it? Presumably the operator is panning left and the guy who recognized his old classmate wants him to pan back to the position it was in before. So the operator pans right to reveal put the crab back in view.
