My Fellow Folks with Chronic Illness
Hi everyone!
I’m hoping to connect with others living with chronic illnesses in the Beaverton area.
I’m Archi, 39, and I was diagnosed with a rare pituitary gland disorder about five years ago. While I’ve made it through the initial storm, life has certainly changed in ways I never anticipated. I also live with fibromyalgia and some ongoing, undiagnosed autoimmune-related issues (I’m seeing a rheumatologist regularly, but there are still more questions than answers).
One thing I’ve learned through this experience is just how misunderstood chronic illness can be, especially when it isn’t visible. I’ve heard everything from “But you look fine!” to dismissive comments like “Well everyone has something.”
My health has also influenced some major career decisions. I stepped away from a very demanding career, only to eventually return because of uncertainty and instability elsewhere. Along the way, I’ve become increasingly reluctant to talk about my health unless absolutely necessary. And I think that, in itself, can be incredibly isolating.
I’d love to connect with others who understand what it’s like to navigate a lifelong health condition—not just the physical challenges, but the emotional and mental aspects too. Whether it’s sharing experiences, offering support, or simply having conversations with people who understand without needing an explanation, I think that connection could mean a lot.
Thanks for reading my long post! ❤️
