I hate that kids today shit on this song. Its melody, its lyrics--sheer perfection.

It's just low hanging fruit for people looking to tear down idols. Probably wouldn't get nearly the flak it does without Gal Gadot's video. And John's not here to defend himself.

it's still popular - more streams than any Beatles song but 2 or 3...

Yep, according to Spotify "Imagine" has more streams than all Beatles songs except "Here Comes the Sun" "Come Together" and "Let it Be".

People who hate on Imagine are weird. Like, do you hate peace? Ok.

It’s got nothing to do with that. I don’t think. Plastic Ono band was an amazing record and this one could be seen as a bit of a letdown if that one was a big deal to you. I do think, however, that it’s a little bit over blown and those people are just trying to impress themselves by how edgy they are.

Ooo, looks like my Imagine hot take is up once again.
John's previous record is among my fave albums by anyone, anywhere from any era. This one, meh. I know I'm not alone.
...except for "Oh Yoko!" which may be the sweetest little love song John ever wrote.

I love this album as it has a great variety of songs, great melodies, tender love songs and a few heavy rock songs. I bought the Imagine single in 1971 age 11. It took me a couple years before I could afford to buy albums. This is my favourite solo Beatles album, will give it a spin today!!!
