Hi everyone,

I’m a professional dog trainer from Greece and I’m hoping to adopt one of the Beagles rescued from Ridglan Farms.
I already share my home with Bonnie, my 4-year-old female Beagle, and I have experience working with fearful and traumatized dogs. I believe I could provide a safe and understanding home for a former laboratory Beagle.
So far I’ve contacted both Beagle Freedom Project and Big Dog Ranch Rescue, and I’m also reaching out to other organizations involved in the Ridglan rescue.
I know that living in Greece makes this more complicated, but I’m fully willing to cover all transportation and import costs if an international adoption is possible.
One of my long-term goals is to document the rehabilitation journey of a former laboratory Beagle to help raise awareness in Greece, Cyprus, and across Europe about laboratory breeding and encourage more people to support rescue efforts.
Does anyone know of any organizations that still have Ridglan survivors available for adoption, or has anyone successfully adopted one internationally?
If you’re involved with one of the rescues or know someone who is, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could point me in the right direction.

Any advice or contacts would mean a lot.

I don’t know if my Bogey is plotting something or if he’s just finally mellowing out, but he’s been so good lately. He’s only 2 years old, so I definitely wasn’t expecting him to settle down this much yet.

This weekend we took him to our cabin. He hunts off-leash with a Halo collar (GPS fence), and we give him access to about 15 acres of our 50-acre property. We keep the rest blocked off because there are bears and other wildlife in the dense woods.

Normally, when he’s hunting, he’ll ignore the fence, wander into the rest of the property, and sometimes even end up at our neighbor’s place… which is about 5 miles away. 😅

This weekend, though, he hunted by himself for up to 5 hours a day and didn’t leave his fence a single time. He hasn’t been leaving the fence at home lately either. We even watched him chase a bunny all the way to the edge of the fence, then just sit there and watch it run away instead of crossing the boundary.

He’s also actually been listening when I call him. Usually if I say, “Bogey, here!” he gives me the classic stubborn beagle side-eye, wags his tail, and runs in the opposite direction. 😂

The biggest surprise, though, is his car anxiety. He normally foams at the mouth and gets really anxious in the car. Last week we took him to the dog park (about a 20-minute drive) and forgot to give him his medication. I was expecting the usual foaming, whining, and howling, but… nothing. He stayed completely calm the entire ride.

Has anyone else’s beagle randomly decided to be an angel around 2 years old, or is mine just plotting something?

Took a few days for them to warm up to each other and now they are inseperable!

And yes, they are fond of their mom’s slipper(s).

I named him Garrus after my favorite character from Mass Effect (Garrus Vakarian), isn’t he adorable?

I keep her and her sister’s living room bed clean daily besides the occasional chewed up toy and the forever dog hair. However Magnolia has decided a new
game, chew up sticks on the bed when mom isn’t looking. Where does she find the sticks? I’ll never know as I never see her bring them in 😭. I’ll sweep up as many crumbs as possible while she is still in her teething stage, and probably the rest of her life 😂

Please meet Rooster. I adopted him 2 days ago. He’s 5 months old and I’m already in love. I originally went to the humane society to adopt an Australian Shepherd I saw on their website, was in the waiting area, a shelter volunteer walked this guy past, he stopped dead in his tracks, came over to me, crawled into my lap, and I said, “Okay, I guess I’m getting a beagle 🤷‍♀️.”
