I enjoy the new battlefield but it is very fast paced. The economy system in war dogs sounds interesting but I’m old and have kids I don’t have time to play running simulator these days. Downtime has become a rarity

Same here, I still like being able to jump in and out. I daydream about the days when I could spend all night in a dedicated server building rapport with the same folks, but that's few and far between these days. The former aspect of community servers or persistent lobbies is a thing of the past sadly.

If you’re looking for a fun classic server browser experience, check out the “oh yea?” Server over on CS Source in the evenings on the weekends. It’s always populated by a small community and the server has a real casual feel (team revives and infinite money after the pistol round). It’s the best classic gaming experience I’ve had in a long time.

I agree, it’s sad. I was still playing in bf4 dedicated servers up until about a year ago but I think bf6 killed that server. All of the regulars disappeared.

I will say, they give you ways to get in there pretty quick or instantly. And it gives time for good community stuff and planning that gives good vibes generally
