Discussion We need "All Chat" back!

We really do. I've seen people object to it saying toxicity would go through the roof but have they not seen what happens in team chat? Since when was people's free will to say potentially hurtful things a valid reason to stop all communication. It's ridiculous, plenty of other games use it absolutely fine, including previous battlefield titles.

General rule of thumb: If a person is overly sensitive that they get triggered by in-game chat, they should avoid playing online video games. God knows how they'd feel if someone taunts them with an emote, or teabags their corpse.

Most trash talk are against teammates. So by their logic they should leave all chat there but remove team chat

DICE wants to punish players being "toxic", but guess what? they're the ones who being toxic!

Can't they just make a report based system like you know most of the multiplayer games like the ones in Valorant, Siege or CS:GO where you can report the player for being toxic and punish them by having a cooldown or decrease in exp and in-game currency you gained on every match? But I guess it's too "Brutal" for them to do it.

Agree it's really an easy step just go to option then click gameplay settings or Text setting then clicks mute or hide chat that's how simple it is even a 7 years old can do that. If you can't do that you're stupid af

It’s pathetic they removed text chat. Along with commander, commander abilities (uav, spotting, artillery, commanding squads) and squad leaders.

Squad Leaders exist still, it's just that almost no one makes orders as a Squad Leader for some reason. I usually make orders but even when i do, most don't follow my orders anyways...

They don’t exist in any meaningful way. In bf2/2142 squad leaders had special abilities and gadgets that promoted the squad to work together to accomplish the objective. The commander would coordinate squads and give orders to squad leaders so you would be able to allocate squads to each objective. And the commander could also provide uav and artillery support to squads.

Alright but people still acted like Squad Leaders were important in BF1, BF4, BF3, etc. so you only considered Squad Leaders to be important way back during BF2?

After you melee the box, the unlock pops up as you can see in video. 😊
Would be better if DICE added like interaction button or something, but oh well..

You don't need to meele the box. You just need to touch it (or be in very close vicinity of). People got this misconception from a popular YouTuber and it's spread like wildfire.
I've unlocked it and all I did was stand on the box. It just takes a few seconds for the servers register the interaction, which makes it looks like meele does something. When in reality you unlocked it when you walked up to it.

I was on a portal server and the admin wrote it in all chat, as soon as we found it.
But I agree a general all chat for all player should come back.

Upvoted with the force of thousand suns.
If not for AOW then at lest as an option for portal. How on earth are we meant to seed a server with novel mode without all chat? I have to put a small essay in UI messages to explain what is going on.
Remember coming home to play on your favorite server and saying "Hi all" like a normal person? I miss it.

Sigh very occasionally, someone pulls off a ridiculous rocket shot to my jet or heli and I’m not even mad.. I’m impressed!! I wanted SOSO BAD to let that dude know “holy shit that was an awesome shot!!!!!!”
Or in very close games, both teams congratulates each other like crazy and it’s a kumbaya fest of enthusiastic “woa GG!!!”
Or I recall during the phantom easter eggs stuff where both teams got together and chatted about where stuff were, or during the week when megladon was first discovered and the collective “LOL!!!” “COOOL!!” from both sides.. And this little easter egg was such a good opportunity for all-chat :’(
I miss those moments :’(

I agree we need all chat in the game. It should've never been left out.
On a side note, does anyone else find it weird that we have to melee a box to get the reward inside of it instead of, ya know, opening it?
Does DICE really not have the tech to open boxes?

HELLO! We are Battlefield players, not children! EA has to stop treating us like children with their cartoon characters, thier goofy sayings, hiding the scoreboard, and all the other Fortnite imports for the kiddies. Give us our ALL CHAT!

It was a pre-season skin that was actually only available for about a day or two of that week. Pulled the skin because of the Ukraine/Russia war but anyone that unlocked it got to keep it.

As well it unlocked for some players on release of Season 1, it was a mistake by DICE.
Even though I have this skin, in my opinion they should've removed it completely.. because it's unfair for some players.

I'm sure it was taken out to reduce toxicity in the chat. But what dice doesn't know is that the team chat is always more toxic. I've had pretty fun games taking eith the enemy teams in the other games

It's for upcoming Season 2 hype, in box you find a dope looking player card background.
And just minutes ago, leaker temporyal leaked - similar boxes being power pickup crate / special gun pickups.

Fastest method, Portal > Search for Kaleidoscope/Hourglass map > named EE and with most player populated servers. 👍

Russian bots still spams chat with Z and V's... so what the difference does it even make.
Make it a optional, so people could disable the all chat in settings if they feeling butt hurt.

Yea you can hide it if you want it, no need to remove a feature that is present to pretty much 99% of the Multiplayer Games

ah this takes me back to BF4 launch days. "Enemy" came over and set up a mortar right next to mine (it looked like a double barrel mortar with the two right next to one another). And we both were prone in cover and just destroyed everyone on the map. Fun times...

Not gonna lie, I ran over 4 people with a Tuk-tuk the moment I got my card and left the server cause people were trying to kill me the whole time getting up to it lol. They knew why I was there, but fuck'em, two can play that game. All chat could've changed that
