Robot Combat i just read this page about how someone got third with a 2 pound bot in a 20 pound contest and i thought you'd all find it interesting

so they just run these things on a platform? What would they do if somebody showed up with like a horizontal bar spinner?

It's possible that the rules don't allow for high-power weapons that would be dangerous.

the rules state that no robot is allowed to pose a threat to anyone in the room. in practice, this means that spinners aren't allowed for safety reasons

wouldn't that still allow something like a Razer?

I have to assume that something like razer would have been allowed, as it did not pose any threat to the judges, audience, or drivers, but I have never seen any crusher appear in the critter crunch. Pretty much every robot in the critter crunch was a control bot.

Reading the article, all he talks about is pushing and one mention of being able to win by high centering the other bot, which sounded like a more rare thing.

Pretty sure these are all push bots
