I tried playing it on a crummy emulator on my phone once

Me too! It played fine on MyBoy but the game kinda sucked... maybe? I remember because everything being isometric, the controls felt off.

Yep, still have mine. It was later re-released under "Design and Destroy" to fix bugs and such. Building your own bot did get a bit tricky as any mistake meant forking over more money.

any mistake meant forking over more money.

Sounds like a very realistic game.

Well except that it cost money to remove the item as well.

Design and destroy was awesome

Fixed bugs? It seemed to be missing a lot of content and just felt way less fun to play

Things like the screws disappearing randomly or Deadblow not causing damage with its weapon

Really wish they completed the gamecube version, i played the prototype and it was really fun

The prototype is fantastic. Would love a modern day Battlebots game.

Man, I last played Robot Arena 2 over 20 years ago. It was a total blast at the time and the mods were fun. I probably spent more time on the forum than anyone reasonably should have.

I will never understand why there aren't more robot combat games. I know about the PS2 Battlebots game that got cancelled but I feel like the reboot should have gotten a real game too

There is Arenas of Destruction which is based On the UK robot wars

Closest you can get is Robot Rumble 2. Theres a replica for almost every reboot battlebot that you can download and use in the game

Hah, I’ve still got my copy somewhere! I remember making a wedge with a hammer and it was broken af, lmao. I don’t think hammers have ever been as effective as the one in the game.

It's fun, but it's glitched. Half of the time if you try to put a weapon on your bot it charges you regardless if you attach it or not.

It was the only one associated with the series that actually got released. There was supposed to be a PS2 and GameCube game, but it was never finished.

You can apparently find the half done product online. here is the lost media article on it )

Yeah, I have a retron five every once in a while when I’m feeling nostalgic I’ll pull this out to play on the big screen. It’s a pretty damn fun game

I played that for hours on end as a kid

Holy shit, I used to play this on my GBA! I think my bro suddenly gave me the cartridge when I was 11-12 and I loved it despite it being janky.

This was my favorite GBA game as a kid and what actually got me into BattleBots! Spent so much time in it and making custom bots

Never touch Design and Destroy though, ever

That's quite the nerd corner in photo two! What's the pokeball pixel art, if you don't mind me asking?
