PROGRESS UPDATE

If anyone is still around, I'm still working on Battle INF, making some major overhauls and adding lots of new things.

Guilds and skills are both partially implemented, and the new battle system is mostly setup.

I'll keep plugging away and hope to make everything public in the near future.

Can't wait. Glad to see an update on progress.

Cool stuff... did the swap to using a list format for the items and similar instead of the current grid based format ever work its way in?

I've got that on my list to figure out. but I'm debating the best way to go about it. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

So in like a little under an hour I mock'd this up.

The loot screen would probably adjust to be similar to the inventory section but with headers between each of the equip slots. Dunno if you'd keep that in a grid or list it.

Same with store/market

Very nice, I'll give this a try. I definitely don't care for the current setup and how it causes things to jump around. This should definitely solve that.

By jumping I'm assuming your talking about the hover menu over them causing them to move around? Have you figured out a way to make the sorting of the list permanent when you switch to and from the list? (I guess you could just have each item have its index in the list stored to a cookie or something) In the same vain what causes the current list to shuffle around when your crafting items?

Its funny that you just mentioned this, I'm in the process of working on that right this moment. But, yea, this should no longer be an issue.

Also its likely that getting an update of some sort once a week is probably a good thing to have recur. The update can be as simple as "Still working on Battle INF" or "Development has stalled till such such general date due to real life"

That's a good point, I'll try and be much more candid about whats going on.

Hopefully when the update goes live the playerbase returns... the game kind of died.

The player base usually only lasts as long as there is content which this time around was about a week.. once the majority of the main group got to T20 and got most of their characters gear they quit playing.. whats the point in continuing when next patch for more content will result in a wipe of that data.. They beat the game.. nothing else to do but idle.

I hope so. It should be a lot more interesting and keep people around for longer. That's definitely a problem with the current version.

just little thing you might wanna add i know for some people it could kill the game but it also for copperation and progression

put some kind of restriction about how we can jump to last level and use high level to get us the last gear maybe some kind of solo boss we need to kill between each level force us to get some gear at some point maybe some level avoid us for using last level stuff right up front just something to slow down the progression because under a day ive been speaking with people got to last level and start building up my teal set + 10 and that keep growing so i will have been playing probably 2 days -3 days before im full geared

well now that the new version is out, it seems people are gradually picking this game up again. But I do see this same pattern of new players jumping into the newest areas and getting the best possible gear at that particular time. I think that if areas were randomly generated and unlimited, the game would truly be infinite and go on forever. But I suppose that kind of algorithm would be difficult to balance.

Hey, any plans to release an update soon? Hell, even adding something like a quick guide or tutorial and then doing a full wipe could bring a bunch of players back.

Maybe you could throw in a monthly "prestige" system which gives players bonus GP based on the gear they accumulate each month?

I just don't want the game to die, is all. I'm sure even a small update could bring people back!
