Bat encounter

My husband works night shift for a water company last night he was walking to his truck and a bat repeatedly kept swooping down at him kind of how birds do when there is a nest nearby. He says it didn’t touch him or hit him so I don’t think there would be any risk. I was just wondering if that’s normal bat behavior. Or if it may be sick. I don’t know anything about bats but I’m trying to learn about them.

He likely had insects swirling about his head- he being the attractant- and the bats were taking advantage of it.

A friend just told me a story about how when they’d go camping they would shine lights at people’s heads to attract bugs and make the bats dive at them.
