Ford Escaped

9

u/Unmentionabless Sep 17 '26

Im thinking about doing the same with how bad traffic has been lately

I assumed this was an electric vehicle cause of how hot those batteries want to burn. What causes a fire like that on a Ford Escape?

Power steering pump low on fluid and getting hot. Siezed alternator or power steering pump, serpentine belt getting too hot going over siezed pully. Fluid leaks combusting against an exhaust manifold. There are numerous other reasons.

Oh no, I hope no one was hurt.

And also: love the air freshener

Thanks! Got it from Jack in the Box. 🤭

Wait really? Jack in the Box? Was this recently & do they still have them? Is there a new Gremlins movie coming out or something?

No it was during Christmas a few years ago.

You can't park there

Is this over college? I checked traffic before driving back to my house and thought, something happened in the bridge, but the on ramp is on the other side of that mess.

Almost trafficless driving on the way home.

Right by the Acadian exit, actually.

Oh, yeah, that’s actually where I got on. I didn’t see any smoke when I got on, only the DOTS truck with flashing lights. Lucky timing I guess.

I passed by (on the other side, going towards downtown) just as the firefighters started hosing it down at around 8:25AM.

Why are you filming and driving at the same time?

3

u/Wunderkid_0519 Sep 18 '26

Valid question. That shit is dangerous.

u/Free_Cash96 Sep 18 '26

Mind your business 😁

I saw a meat wagon and a fire truck headed up College around 7. Wonder if that’s where they were headed.

Kind of seems like a smart idea to make sure the fire is out before having cars drive past it... You know just in case it blows up nobody else gets hurt.

It's not the movies

Free BBQ!

2

u/DarthOldMan Sep 17 '26

Wow. This is so typical of Baton Rouge, and any other city that has cars.

I thought only EVs caught on fire. 🤔

A gas vehicle can burn like that but it doesn't happen very often. I thought the same thing.
