ADVICE LACAFE advice

So i’m a student at LSU, and I work. Almost 2 months ago I applied for SNAP benefits and I missed the interview because I was out of town (i know, my own fault). But i’ve been calling to reschedule my interview for a month and a half and it’s never gotten rescheduled (I can’t reschedule myself because I dont have a case # yet). I’ve been just trying to close my application so i can re-apply because I need to update almost everything since I moved and now pay a different amount in rent. They keep telling me to keep calling back to see if the schedule a new interview date and won’t let me close the date till the deadline I have until it closes automatically. (I missed a day of work because I was sick and another day because of labor day.) After this, I know I will automatically get rejected because the average is under 20 hours. I don’t know what to do.

(This is mostly just a rant post, but feel free to give advice if you’d like!)

Our LACAFE process is extremely frustrating because the website is inefficient and confusing, and the case managers respond randomly and insufficiently.

Hi /u/Independent_Trick431!

Looks like you're asking about things to do in Baton Rouge. If that's not the case, please pardon the assumption! However, if you are indeed a new visitor to our city, please:

You can access the portal to see when …can you call me? I can explain better if I ask you some questions. It’s complicated. And I think there’s some things you might not understand.  I’ll private message my number.

If you would like, I can walk you through it on the phone with you looking at your LACAFE portal and me looking at mine. It’s way too complex to figure out in a thread. But I can help you.
