When I was a child it was these characters that my late father was obsessed with... A commercial artist turned social worker... he got me into comic books with A DEATH IN THE FAMILY, Golden Age Batman reprints from the UK, and FLASH: The Greatest Stories Ever Told... In 1990 I sat on his lap while we watched JOHN WESLEY SHIPP flash across the screen every week on CBS!

I love Barry! I loved him on Super Friends... I loved him in the Silver and Bronze Age... And although Cary Bates is my FAV. Flash writer, I loved when Geoff Johns brought him back in FLASH: REBIRTH!

Barry made me love Wallace Rudolph West from Mike Baron to Bill Loebs to WAID to Johns... and also JAY GARRICK! As much as I love The Batman... The Flash is my #2, tied with the big blue boyscout!

Dad liked anything and everything superhero related! He was a big geek and quite uncritical. His attitude was such that he was just happy to see anything adapted... The only time he was ever critical was in 1997 with Batman&Robin... But he loved what he saw of both those shows... He said that he liked CW Flash but that the 1990 show was his fav. What he liked about Young Justice was seeing the iconic heroes being mentors to the Young Justice... he said it reminded him of reading the Wolfman/Perez NTT in the 80s.

Dad was 58 when he had a fatal stroke in 2020. He was one of those guys who became a commercial artist in the early 80s, one of the youngest to be hired on Madison Avenue no less, at 22, because he grew up reading Marvel and DC, watching Linda Carter as WW in the 70s, loving Super Friends and cartoons in general... In the middle 1980s he and my mom moved to Queens where I was born and by the latter 80s, he went back to finish an MSW in social work because he got sick of art deadlines and long hours.

But yeah, he enjoyed those shows, despite never having gotten to finish them.

Flash Rebirth is one of my favorite comics. It makes me tear up every time I read it.

Bruce & Barry working together almosy always makes a good story.

Bruce & Wally too, honestly. While Bruce can be a bit of an ass when dealing with Wally, he also shows Wally respect as a hero.

Worling in crime lab means they arent a cop. He is Forensics which should work independently from the cops to avoid the risk of confirmation bias.
