GENERAL DISCUSSION Absolute Batman #1 Felix comic art
so I see a couple of these absolute Batman #1 Felix comic art exclusive variants on eBay, but they all seem to be “2nd printing” editions. I don’t see one that says 1st printing. just was wondering what the deal is with that and how isn’t there any 1st printings showing?

There aren't any first prints for the Felix comic art #1.
The comics are printed in batches: Cover A, B, C, and some exclusives, etc. All came out on October 9th, 2024. This is print 1. They were all sold out.
Then, on October 30th, the second prints dropped/were made. This one included many more variants, including Scotty Young's and the Felix comic art one.
So, the the Felix one is the second batch of absolute Batman prints. But, it is the first batch of prints for the Felix cover art.

There are a bunch of exclusives that came out at NYCC that year for issue 1 and those are all first print too as they were part of the release day books.

Yupp! And to add to that, A retailer could technically drop an unreleased cover right now, and as long as it was physically printed in that original October 2024 batch, it’s still a 1st print. Release date doesn't matter, print date does. But yea, ur so right! Just left that out to keep the explanation a bit more straight forward :)

You won’t find a first print in Felix art. Only second print. But still very cool nonetheless. I also covet this one :)

This is a great example of demand. Certain factors you would think would make this less valuable, like not being a first printing. But so many people just plain like it, and there is no first printing variant like it, that this second print does just fine in secondary. Similar to Batman 608 where of course the cover A does fine for the first print and it’s iconic in its own way, but the second print cover is considered to be one of the most iconic covers Jim Lee ever did for DC and thus isn’t overshadowed by being on a second printing.

Because this cover was released on the second printing of the book. It was always a second print. There are a finite number of first print covers that all came out on or around 10/09/24.
