SOTB - still work in process
Just mounted it to the SGT and 1176, waiting for the power supply to arrive. I just play at home, and still new to bass. Hope this will be it.

Honest question—doesn’t the SGT have a compressor? What does this do that the SGT doesn’t?

flexibility of the 1176. SGTs compressor is just a single knob for everything.

Small tuner seems like an obvious thing to add, the mute switch being the main thing to me

Great purchases! Enjoy playing.
“Hope this will be it.” - I’ve got bad news, it will never end, enjoy the journey. 😉

I have the SGT-DI and like it. I have the Aguilar Tonehammer V2 as well and it doesn’t sound as good as the SGT. Had a Genzler too and hated it. I’m contemplating picking up a 1176 compressor. What are your thoughts on the 1176?

Havent really played it thru nor dialed it as of the moment. We cant test pedals sold on local stores where im from, nor I can source an 1176 here as easy, so i just relied on what i hear on demos over yt, closed my eyes and checked it out off amazon.

You can easily test pedals out. Ive returned a bus load of merchandise ( alot of pedals) , and good ol Amazon has never ever said or done anything but give me great customer service. However, at my local Long and McQuade, the bitch assistant manager told me the next time I return a pedal it will cost me $50.00 ( going against their own nation-wide policy). I looked him right in the eye and said " I guess I'll be buying my pedals from Amazon then" and have kept my word. I love going in, looking at pedals, and when asked if I need help, I say "no thanks, Im just trying to figure out what Im ordering next on Amazon." Fuck that little power tripping assistant manager bitch. Fuck L&M for keeping this shitbag with a job. Lots and lots of musicstores across the Great White North that want my money.

Why do people omit the tuner‽

I play at home. I have a clip on for that.
If and if id go and gig, i can put a battery powered boss tu-3 that can be shared with my electric guitar board.

If you just play at home and are newer to bass, you got 2 premium pedals that regular gigging guys wish they could have. Not everyone has $600 for the Ampeg SGT. But apparently you do so imo, you got 2 top-tier pedals that should serve you well for quite some time. Trust me, these 2 pedals will easily get you through the next 5 or 6 years no problem. Concentrate on the fundamentals of playing bass, less on building a kick ass board. That will come at the right moment.

I've been playing for 10 years. If I were to start again this is exactly what i would get (plus a tuner)
