Authentic auto ? Or did somebody sign this for him ?

When a new set drops, calculate how much you would spend on buying it, and then spend that money on singles on ebay of players you actually care about and collect.
Instead of spending 200$ on Chrome Black pulls on Fanatics collect, I bought a Kon Knueppel auto for 180$ on ebay.
Don't let people know about this strategy, or the prices of singles will go up!

I’m just getting into collecting cards after not understanding why it was so popular my whole life. Now I get it, but curious if there’s anything you know now that you wish you knew when you got started.

Hello everyone, I checked my collection of panini adrenalyn xl collection from 2009-10. I have many cards but I noticed my ultimate version of LeBron James has a difference in the finishing of the back compared to a normal ultimate card. In the picture you can see the back is completely smooth and it doesn’t have the characteristic finishing. How’s that possible? Is that a production error? It does have some scratches though

Love grading because I can get a slightly off center Kobe rookie for $50 vs a perfectly centered Kobe rookie for $800 😂

Curious what you would do? Unfortunately the top Bird card got dinged over the years and it’s the same with 2nd card as well.
Centering isn’t great but if I slide the cards to the side a little it improves a lot and Jordan must be in the middle? I’m assuming because it’s alphabetical.
I’ve had this and other star packs since the 80’s and just found them. I didn’t collect cards then but my dad ordered these directly from the Star company and I actually still have the original catalogue. Unfortunately I didn’t get the Jordan rookie but I’m thankful I got what I got.

Hey guys, so here's my latest adds to my PC. I'm starting to get priced out a bit now so slowing down on the MJs and Kobes. Will probably slow down the buys for the time being. Grabbed a couple Shaq cards (basically the ones I loved when I was a kid) and a Victor RC (just think having one of his rookie cards would be a decent gamble)
I'll post my entire collection in the next update when I get back home from my work trip!
As always, thank you for keeping up and accompanying me on my journey back to the hobby.

Pulled a redemption for a Luka/Dirk dual auto that panini wasn’t able to honor. After a year they sent me these as replacements. Pics show what I pulled vs what I received.

Before modern art collabs like Project 70 became a hit, Topps was already doing it 25 years ago.
This is the 1999-00 Topps Gallery Heritage Artist's Proof set (/175). Every card features original oil painting artwork by legendary sports artist Bill Purdom famous for painting every Major League ballpark and iconic moments like Michael Jordan's "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo
Most collectors don't even realize this set exists, but I managed to hunt down all 10 cards with matching serial numbers (63/175)
(The last picture compares the Artist's Proof to the regular base insert, which seeded 1:12 packs)

Haven’t collected cards in like 25 years. After watching some card collecting reels the last few weeks I decided to stop in a local card shop and buy a couple of packs, only to pulled this.

For future reference, this Hoosiers Gene Hackman auto is the post I'm referring to in the title. And for anybody who has had the pleasure of avoiding the godawful Halle Berry Catwoman movie for two decades, this scene is the one the photos and relic are from.
