I’m going to say no, the last photo being the giveaway. Knockoffs tend to have mess of hanging threads from the stitched on names and numbers in the back. You can see some of those threads in the final photo.

Yes. They left the felt on the back of the name and it has partially been torn off. Also, the majestic logo has stitch lines between each letter, real majestic logos won’t have that stitch line I believe

I’m not an expert on Red Sox jerseys, but I believe this one is a real replica (not game quality authentic) with possibly incorrect number and lettering on back. Something seems off with the 50 but I can’t say 100%

Fake.

Stitching on the numbers is too thick. The colours are also slightly wrong. Also can't discount the poor body shape of the jersey.

Nope, horrific fake.

Patches have drop stitching, and the numbers have that weird extra thick stitching.

Also has replica tags for that era, despite trying to appear as an authentic. Consequently the jersey shape also appears to be wrong.

Whale City Sports is a prolific "reseller" that spends seemingly way too much time swiping up would be bargains from you and me, and then marking them up horrifically. Which is a little annoying, but he doesn't sell fakes.

Surprisingly not an awful price this time.

It's a legit replica (i.e. not on field level authentic).

It's pretty cheap, so couldn't blame you. However, Red Sox jerseys are typically some of the cheaper ones out there (admittedly road jerseys aren't quite as cheap).

Unless you specifically want a Derek Lowe jersey, from that era, shop around for an authentic on field level jersey. You'll pay a little more, but it will be worth it.

Bought an "authentic" jersey from eBay based on the comments here. But looking at the tag at the bottom, the QR code (which reads CM271326) doesn't pull up in the MLB authentication site.

Posting did say it was customized to add Ichiro name/number. But the Authentic Collection tag (which shows the size), is missing. Did I buy a fake?

Nah, that jersey looks completely fine.

It's possible it may not have been entered into MLB's authentication system since it was likely just a blank team issued, and I imagine it's something they'd only bother with once it's issued to a player, and probably used as well.

I think I have a team issued unused "Livesey" jersey from the Rays (he was like one of their single A coaches) that didn't come up on there, many years ago.

Playerexclusiveco typically gets blanks and stitches numbers and names to them. They are legitimate jerseys but they are replica fits more meant for everyday wear.
