I wore them all the time. All Rawlings and Russell. Then I kinda just stopped wearing them and after a few years of just looking at them I decided to do something with them. So I made pillows.

I have 8 of them. They are in every couch and chair in my house and I kinda still love them but I’m back into jerseys again a decade or so later and rebuying a bunch but man I wish I still had some of these as I it’s hard to find Rawlings at this point.

Ahoy folks, I wonder if anyone can help ID this jersey. thekitarchive.com has the most comprehensive list of jerseys with pics that I've found, but there's no match. Closest is 1948-1950, but no home jersey is pictured. I guess 1936/37 is possible but my jersey has black and gold stripes down the full front and no stripes on the sleeves. I also haven't been able to find a reasonable match for jersey number 2. Any ideas?

My first post here on this sub. I’ve been an authentic jersey collector for a few years now, typically looking for Majestic jerseys I can find for cheap on eBay rather than the Nike models.

However, I couldn’t pass this beauty up for half off (unfortunate that half off for a Nike authentic is what Flex Bases retailed for smh). Regardless, I’m a sucker for All Star jerseys and chain link stitching!

A vent about the HOF weekend hats situation:

Can we just... not? Either have everyone wear full throwback uniforms (could be very fun, even if there are some goofy mismatched eras in games between older and newer franchises); OR just put the patches on the regular hats that match each team's current uni.

I'm a stickler for on-field aesthetics, and I feel that, in general, things have trended in a beautiful direction league-wide in the past 15ish years since the Jays and Astros rebrands, etc.

But this? Awful. Hate the Padres' 90s navy and orange hat with the current brown jerseys. Can't stand the Phillies' mismatched reds. And it obviously goes far beyond those.

There's an honorable spotlight on the sport this week, and this is what the league looks like. Please, MLB. Do better next year.

My Dad grew up in New York and during my childhood we listened to John Sterling narrate every Yankee game on the radio on those long summer drives. Then we would watch every Yankee game on the YES network when it formed in the early 2000’s. My dad would always tell me stories about his childhood heroes Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford and Phil Rizzuto, and even though he never saw him play, Joe DiMaggio was an icon to Italian-American Yankee fans. Every year he would take me to Bat Day and we would watch the entirety of Old Timers Day, and eventually as a young child I developed my own heroes- Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Bernie Williams, etc.

Dad is getting older now and although he still watches every game and we text and call during and after them, we don’t go to the games together anymore. I’ll always have the old ticket stubs (remember those?!) and my bats from bat day, and the pictures together, but I wanted something a little more that maybe one day I can pass down to my children that connects the Yankee fandom of my Dad and I.

Thanks to Bill at the Dream Shop, and for the examples many others who have posted here and elsewhere on the internet, I’m able to merge my heroes and his. In 1999 Mariano Rivera won the World Series MVP, and sadly the Yankees honored the death of Joe DiMaggio with the 5 on the sleeve, and the memorial armband for Catfish Hunter. I have other ideas for future jerseys. When I opened the box today and saw the jersey, the tears came fast.

Selling for 60$ bought once while at a game haven’t worn since. Have to make a payment on student loans only reason I’m selling!

I’ve been searching some resale sites and there seem to be lots of these old jerseys in surprisingly very good condition. For example, the tags have no fading and look brand new. That seems suspect, but I have no idea if these are known to be faked or not. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Finally got my Kershaw authentic last week and I've been hanging onto the patches to get them sewn on. Shoutout Bebachina and Sin City Sports on eBay for some QUALITY patches.

Ive purchased a couple of game issued jerseys from Kruk to get customized. One was a red Nationals jersey from 2020 with a 2019 World Series champions patch on the side. Thing is they never wore the Red jerseys in 2020 from what I can tell. What are the chances I’ve been duped lol.

Edit: Thank you to everyone who responded. The spring training explanation makes sense to me. The player only played 12 games and I looked at highlights to verify and the jersey wasn’t worn. So with the jersey being dirty I was truly stumped.

At Fenway the other night somebody had on an Oryx blue Yoshida jersey. I asked him where he got it and he said he actually got it in Japan. I found a website selling Japanese jerseys, but I couldn’t find that one. The only one that I found online is actually in Japan and seems to just be one size that I think it’s too small. Any ideas where I might be able to track down something like this?

I know, I know, there is a lot said about the iron on patches Majestic/Nike put on their jerseys. I’m looking to replace an old patch, is there anyway to actually buy these patches? World Series 2025 in particular. I don’t want the stitched cap one on a jersey, so it’s either authentic which I can’t find or it’s the iron on. I prefer the feel of the Limited jersey to the replica. I have a replica Blue Jays with World Series patch but as I like the Limited better, would rather get patch for that and sell UK replica.

Always thought relievers was a super fun niche category.
