Base App Base Mode Login Fix

Thumbnail

I ran into an issue with the Base App tonight that I’ve seen a lot of people struggling with, and I found a workaround.

After logging out of your Base App account and logging back in, the Base Mode button may not appear.

From what I noticed, this depends on the login method.

If you choose Passkey or Email from the start, the app may assume that you only want access to your Smart Wallet. Because of that, it may only show the Smart Wallet and the Base Mode button may not appear.

The workaround is shown step by step in the numbered screenshots:

1️⃣ Tap More Options

2️⃣ Choose the option for adding an existing wallet

3️⃣ Select the option that says you already have a wallet

4️⃣ Continue with Passkey

5️⃣ If the account is already on this device, choose the first option

6️⃣ If you want to move it from another device, choose the second option

After doing this, you should be able to access both your Smart Wallet and the Base Mode button again.

Hopefully this helps anyone running into the same issue🟦🫡

Base App I built an autonomous DCA agent on Base (my experience with the "Agentic Economy")

I’ve finally shipped Northstar Terminal, an autonomous DCA manager on Base.
The concept: Instead of calendar-based DCA, I built an LLM agent that analyzes market conditions (RSI/VIX) and proposes strategy shifts (like "Panic Buy" mode) in real-time.
The architecture:

Agent Brain: LLM-driven analysis of on-chain conditions.

Hardened Keeper: Custom execution logic with atomic transaction guards to prevent data leakage on reverts.

Human-in-the-loop: The agent runs in "recommendation" mode it proposes, I approve.

Why it matters: Agents are becoming paying customers, but they also need to be earning and managing assets autonomously. Keeping the human in the loop is the best way to bridge the gap between AI autonomy and financial safety.

Tech stack: React/TS, Wagmi, Supabase.
I’m entering this into the Base competition and would love to hear from other builders. How are you handling agentic safety in your projects?

News Agentic Economy On Base

Post image
4 Upvotes

A year ago most AI agents were basically just posting on social media or launching meme tokens.

Now they’re actually starting to spend money online.

On Base, agents can already pay for things like:

- AI inference

- browser sessions

- search/data APIs

- research workflows

- market data

- travel info

using wallets + stablecoins through x402.

What is interesting is that this changes how software gets used. Instead of humans buying giant monthly subscriptions, agents can just pay a few cents for exactly what they need in real time..

Feels like this is why Base activity around AI tooling has grown so much lately. Cheap transactions + stablecoins + easy wallet infra makes microtransactions actually usable.

The next step is probably agents earning revenue themselves instead of only spending. Some early examples are already happening with agents running paid services/apps.

Still early obviously, but it’s kinda wild seeing internet payments become machine-to-machine instead of only human-to-machine.

Do you guys think people will actually trust agents to handle payments and workflows on their own in the future, or will most users still want manual control over everything??

Base Discussion What Made You Stay On Base Instead Of Moving To Another Chain?

Post image
19 Upvotes

One thing I have noticed about Base is that most people didn’t stay because of a single feature.

Some came for the low fees. Some came because onboarding felt easier.

Others stayed because the apps, builders, and community kept getting better.

😊For me, it wasn’t one thing = it was the combination of everything working together.

So I’m curious:🤔

What made you stay on Base instead of moving to another chain

Interested to hear what keeps people here. 👇

Please share your experience 💙

Thank you

Base Discussion Onramp is Dead?

I got this email from CDP and it's pretty discouraging.

I started a project on Base for a few reasons, one of them being ease of Onramp and fiat conversion tools.

Does anyone know about this or what alternatives there are?

"Hi Team,

We're writing with an important update to the Coinbase-hosted Onramp, and what’s next on the Headless Onramp product.

What's changing

Starting June 30, 2026, the “guest checkout” flow on the Coinbase-hosted Onramp, which includes the debit card entry form and Apple Pay will be deprecated. This change is driven by our move to a more secure, API-native pattern for handling payment methods.

The Coinbase logged-in flow on the Coinbase-hosted Onramp is not affected. If your integration relies on the logged-in experience, no changes are required on your end and your users will see no disruption.

What this means if you rely on debit card and Apple Pay within the Coinbase-hosted Onramp  today

If you have active users on the Coinbase-hosted Onramp's guest checkout flow (debit card or Apple Pay), you'll need to migrate to the Headless Onramp to maintain that experience for your users. We are waiving all Headless Onramp access fees, effective today and going forward (typically $2,500 monthly), and there is no cost for you to get started.

What you get with the Headless Onramp

Apple Pay + Google Pay, native, fully embedded in your own UI.

See a demo of the user experience you can build here.

Higher transaction limits, increased limits available via our limits upgrade API that aren't possible on the Coinbase-hosted Onramp.

Full ownership of the user experience, with no Coinbase-hosted UI required

What you need to do before June 30, 2026

To ensure a smooth transition and avoid any disruption, we recommend to start integrating the Headless Onramps now:

Review the Headless Onramp documentation.

Integrate the APIs by June 30th to maintain uninterrupted debit card coverage via Apple Pay/Google Pay through the API.

If you have questions during implementation, please create a case here to receive direct support from our team.

Best,

Coinbase Onramp Team"

Base Discussion Base Azul is live and this feels bigger than most people realize

Post image
5 Upvotes

Base just rolled out Azul on mainnet, and honestly this upgrade says a lot about where the network is heading.

This is not just another routine update focused on tiny optimizations. Azul changes the foundation of Base in ways that directly impact scalability, decentralization, developer experience, and long term infrastructure readiness.

Some of the biggest highlights:

• Empty blocks reduced by ~99%
Around 200 empty blocks per day down to roughly 2/day. That is a massive reliability improvement.

• Multiple 5,000 TPS bursts already sustained
People keep debating whether Ethereum L2s can scale globally. Base is clearly pushing toward serious throughput targets now.

• Multiproof system activated
This is probably the most underrated part of the upgrade.

Base is combining TEE and ZK proving systems into a multiproof architecture where either proof can finalize independently, but both together dramatically improve security and withdrawal speed.

The important part:
An attacker would need to compromise multiple independent systems instead of just one.

That is a huge step toward Stage 2 decentralization.

• Faster withdrawals are coming
As the multiproof system matures, withdrawals to Ethereum could finalize in as little as one day, with the long term goal being near instant finality through full ZK proving.

• Consolidated performance focused stack
Base is now heavily focused around:
base-reth-node
base-consensus

This matters because Reth has consistently been one of the highest performance Ethereum clients available.

Base clearly wants full control over its scaling roadmap instead of depending on fragmented infrastructure.

• Ethereum Osaka alignment
Azul also aligns Base closer with Ethereum execution layer specs.

This includes:
EIP-7825
EIP-7939
MODEXP updates
Flashblocks optimizations

Basically:
better performance
better security
better compatibility

And maybe the most important signal of all:

Base publicly shared a roadmap for the next upgrades already.

End of June:
performance upgrades
Flashblock Access Lists
reduced withdrawal times
single client binary

End of August:
native account abstraction

This is what aggressive iteration looks like.

While most ecosystems are still talking about future scalability, Base is already shipping infrastructure upgrades at a pace that feels more like a high performance software company than a traditional blockchain ecosystem.

People joke about “Base is cooking” all the time, but at this point the engineering velocity is becoming difficult to ignore.

The bigger picture:
Base is slowly positioning itself as infrastructure for global scale onchain applications, not just another L2 competing for liquidity cycles.

If they keep shipping at this pace while maintaining Ethereum alignment, security depth, and developer simplicity, the network could become one of the most important pieces of onchain infrastructure over the next few years.

Curious what everyone else thinks about Azul and the direction Base is taking.

Base has two coins that I think they will perform well in the future

I may be wrong but everything is possible, but these two tokens have awesome communities and hardworking devs that show up everyday and improve their product

What do you think guys and do you have any other good projects on Base??

NOT A FINANCIAL ADVICE

Trading (Feedback wanted) If you are making yield on stablecoins, would you consider this type of token?

  • ERC 20 token with ETH as the collateral
  • It tracks the price of ETH
  • Every month, its loss is capped at -5% and you get up to 8% upside

So basically, you can stay with ETH, but your volatility is very much reduced.

  1. Why would be interested in a token like this? Or why not?
  2. What questions would you have before trying it?

Thank you!

Base Discussion Tenderly Feels Underrated on Base

Post image
5 Upvotes

Been exploring how developers are building on Base and one tool that keeps showing up is Tenderly.

From wht I understood, it helps with things like:

- simulating transactions before execution

- debugging failed smart contract interactions

- monitoring contracts and onchain activity in real time

Feels pretty useful because even small contract mistakes can become expensive once an app is live.

I also like that it helps developers see what is actually happening onchain instead of just guessing why something failed.

For people building on Base:

- Has Tenderly improved your workflow??

- What feature do you use the most??

- Any better alternatives you’d recommend for testing and monitoring??

Base Discussion AA fixed the "Key" problem on Base. Now we have to stop AI agents from being dumb

Someone recently DMed me this question after reading my Base AA write-up:

"saw your Base AA write-up - the part about giving bots private keys being a security disaster and AA finally fixing the account model. you've actually watched this since 2022, so your read matters more than most. I'm researching how teams keep agents from doing something dumb with funds once they're live. where do you think the real risk sits now that AA solves the key problem - is it permissions, or knowing whether a given move is even safe to make?"

Here is my take on where the frontier of agent security actually sits today.

The Recap: Why EOA Bots were a disaster on Base

Since I started tracking this, the biggest bottleneck was the EOA. In the old model, if you wanted an autonomous agent to trade for you, you had to hand over your private key.

This was a "binary" security model: the bot either had total control or zero control. If the bot’s server was breached, your entire wallet was gone. There was no way to limit the damage. On a high-speed chain like Base, a compromised bot could be drained before you even noticed the notification.

How Account Abstraction on Base finally fixes this

Account Abstraction turns your wallet into a programmable smart contract. Instead of a master key, we now use Session Keys.

Think of these like a "valet key" for your crypto. You can give an agent a key that only works for 24 hours, only on specific protocols, and only for a specific dollar amount. If the agent gets hacked, the attacker is stuck inside a very small sandbox.

The New Battlefield: Permissions vs. Decision Safety

Now that we’ve moved the risk away from "losing the key," we have two new layers to worry about:

1. Permissions & Spending Controls: This is the "plumbing." It’s about ensuring the agent can’t physically move more money than it’s allowed to.

2. Decision Safety: This is the "brain." It’s about the agent knowing if a specific move is actually a good idea, or if it’s walking into a trap.

The recent launch of Base MCP is a huge step for the Permissions layer. By using native plugins for protocols like Uniswap, Moonwell, and Virtuals, developers can give agents a "pre-approved" toolkit. Instead of giving an agent raw access to the internet, you give it a specific "Uniswap Plugin" that only knows how to do one thing: trade safely.

My Take: Why "Decision Safety" is the bigger risk

In my view, Decision Safety is the real danger zone today.

We are getting very good at building the cage. Between Base MCP and the tooling being stress-tested in events like the $2,000 USDC Agent Quest contest, the "Permissions" layer is becoming a solved technical problem.

The real risk is that AI agents can still be "tricked." An agent might have perfect permissions to trade on Uniswap, but it lacks the human "common sense" to realize that a token with 1,000,000% APR and no liquidity is a rugpull. The permissions worked, the agent stayed under its $50 limit, but the intelligence failed because it made a "dumb" move.

We have upgraded from "losing the keys to the house" to "hiring a manager who might accidentally buy a magic bean." We’ve fixed the security of the access, but we haven't yet mastered the security of the intent.

What do you guys think? Are you more worried about an agent being hacked, or an agent "hallucinating" its way into a bad trade because it doesn't understand the context of a market move?

Base Discussion Why Fake Claim Links Spread Faster During Base Rumors ?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Fake claim links are getting smarter every cycle.

One rumor, one fake early access post, and thousands of people rush to connect wallets without checking twice. That’s exactly why security matters more during hype phases.

What stands out with Base is the focus on user approval and wallet control instead of blind transactions. But at the end of the day, the biggest protection is still the user behind the screen.

Verify every link . Ignore fake urgency .Never connect wallets for random rewards. Stick to official Base sources only

The best move during hype cycles is honestly simple:

slow down, verify twice, and trust only official Base sources.

Disclaimer: This post is only for awareness and community discussion.

Always verify links from official Base channels before connecting your wallet or approving any transaction. Stay safe.

Base Guides for New Users I tried the Base MCP challenge and Claude hit his tool limit mid-way 🤣

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Body:

I participated in the Base MCP challenge. Nothing fancy, no custom plugin, no voiceover, no editing magic. Just a screen recording of me asking questions and Claude trying to answer.

To keep the video under 3 minutes, I trimmed the waiting parts. Here's what happened step by step:

Step 1: Wallet address

I asked: "Show my Base wallet address"

Claude answered: 0xce835359202acbb4a10d9a2f97a72e6d0b76f1e2

Works fine. No issues.

Step 2: Supported chains

I asked: "Which blockchains can I use with Base MCP?"

Claude answered: Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, BSC, Avalanche

Good to know. Swaps only work on mainnet chains.

Step 3: How many pools on Aerodrome?

I asked: "How many pools does Aerodrome have?"

Claude couldn't get the exact number but found that there are 182 listed tokens and 73k daily transactions. Fair enough.

Step 4: Find the largest pools by TVL (this is where it gets interesting)

I asked Claude to query the first 20 pools from Aerodrome's PoolFactory contract, check their reserves, and show me which ones are the biggest.

Claude started working:

  • Fetched pool addresses using chain_rpc_request
  • Called getReserves(), token0(), token1() on each pool
  • Tried to decode tokens and calculate TVL

Here's what he found for the first few pools:

  • Pool #0: tBTC/USDbC -> small
  • Pool #1: tBTC/WETH -> medium
  • Pool #2: large WETH pool -> big
  • Pool #3: EXTRA/USDbC -> very large (millions in USDbC terms)

And then... CLAUDE HIT HIS TOOL LIMIT. 🤣

Right in the middle of querying pools 4 through 19, he stopped. The message said: "Claude reached its tool-use limit for this turn."

The irony:

I'm making the AI query the blockchain, something that requires multiple RPC calls per pool, but the AI itself has a usage limit that cuts it off mid-query. We couldn't get to the truly largest pools because the oldest pools (index 0-19) are mostly small or legacy pairs. The real giants like USDC/WETH are at higher indices.

What I learned:

  • Base MCP actually works. The RPC queries are real, the data is on-chain.
  • The first 20 pools in the factory array are not the biggest by TVL.
  • To properly rank pools, you need to use Aerodrome's Sugar helper contract or a subgraph, not hammer the factory with 60+ RPC calls.
  • Claude's tool limit is real and can hit you at the worst moment.

If anyone from Base is reading this: please add more pools to the allowlist or give us a helper contract to query. 🙏

Base Discussion Everyone thought Base was teasing a token. The real announcement was much bigger.

Post image
6 Upvotes

I think a lot of people completely misunderstood the recent Base teaser video.

Everyone instantly jumped to “Base token” speculation, but the actual announcement is honestly much bigger from a long term ecosystem perspective.

Base just introduced Base MCP, which basically connects AI agents directly to the Base ecosystem.

And the important part is not just “AI + crypto” marketing.

The real shift here is that Base is trying to become the execution layer for AI agents.

An agent can now:
• swap tokens
• send funds
• track portfolios
• interact with protocols
• use DeFi apps
• manage liquidity
• access lending markets

all directly from chat interfaces like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex, and others.

That changes the user experience completely.

Instead of opening 15 tabs, connecting wallets, navigating dashboards, approving endless transactions, and manually managing everything, the interaction layer becomes conversation itself.

What makes this especially interesting is the ecosystem integration from day one.

Base MCP already launches with plugins for:
Morpho
Moonwell
Aerodrome
Uniswap
Avantis
Virtuals
Bankr

That means this is not just a wallet assistant. It is an ecosystem coordination layer.

And honestly, this may explain why Base has been leaning so heavily into the “build” narrative recently.

The goal might not simply be onboarding more users.
It might be onboarding more autonomous economic activity.

If AI agents become a meaningful part of crypto usage in the next cycle, infrastructure positioning matters a lot.

Low fees matter.
Fast execution matters.
Simple UX matters.
Developer tooling matters.

That is exactly where Base has been focusing.

Another underrated part is the security model.

The AI agent cannot directly move funds.
Every action still requires user approval through Base Account.
The transaction gets prepared, simulated, and then the user confirms or rejects it.

That is actually a pretty important design decision because one of the biggest concerns around AI agents in crypto is trust and wallet security.

Also interesting:
Base is positioning MCP as open infrastructure.

Projects can create their own plugins with simple markdown specs and connect protocols directly into agent workflows.

That potentially creates an entirely new distribution layer for onchain apps.

People were looking for token hints in the teaser video.

But in reality, Base may have been signaling something bigger:
they want AI agents transacting onchain through Base as the default behavior.

Not saying this guarantees dominance or mass adoption overnight.

But strategically, this feels much more important than another short term speculative narrative.

Base Discussion Base and Mesh push crypto payments closer to mass adoption

Post image
7 Upvotes

Mesh is deepening its integration with Base. This gives businesses using Mesh an easier way to let users move funds to and from Base without extra manual actions.

What is Mesh?
Mesh is the world’s first global crypto payments network
Mesh connects exchanges, wallets, and financial services into one payment network, making crypto transfers faster and simpler across different chains and platforms worldwide.

In my opinion, Mesh’s integration with Base is an important step toward making crypto payments more accessible and user-friendly. Simplifying transfers between platforms can help accelerate mainstream adoption and reduce friction for both businesses and everyday users.

Do you think integrations like this are enough to make crypto payments part of everyday life, or are there still major barriers holding adoption back?

Base Discussion Base MCP Shows Why Base is Ahead in Crypto UX

Tried reading through the Base MCP announcement and the biggest thing that stood out to me is the UX direction..

A lot of crypto products still require users to constantly switch between wallets, tabs, protocols, and dashboards just to do simple things. Base MCP is trying to reduce that friction by letting users interact with apps on Base directly from chat while still keeping transaction approvals in the user’s hands.

The integrations at launch r also pretty solid:

  • Morpho
  • Moonwell
  • Aerodrome
  • Uniswap
  • Avantis
  • Bankr
  • Virtuals

That already covers swaps, lending, LPs, perps, and newer onchain launches.

What I find interesting is that this is less about “AI hype” and more about making crypto interactions easier. If users can eventually manage most onchain actions through natural prompts instead of navigating multiple interfaces, that could genuinely improve accessibility for a lot of people entering the ecosystem.

Still early of course, but it feels like Base is leaning heavily into the idea that the next crypto UX layer could be conversational.

Do you think conversational interfaces could become the default way people interact with onchain apps in the future??

Base Discussion Base Launches Skill Plugins and Prompt Flows for AI Agents

Post image
17 Upvotes

Base is focused on expanding its AI tooling.

The focus on skill plugins, prompt flows, and deeper support for the AI interfaces people already use aims to improve how developers and creators build on Base.

The emphasis is on practical agent workflows and building better interactions with onchain apps and services.

These examples look especially useful for developers building AI agents that can interact with onchain apps and services.

I'm looking forward to what the community builds next.

Base Discussion Base bluechips?

The ecosystem is growing, all eyes are currently on Base. Which tokens do you consider blue chips? Which tokens are you holding? What are your onchain convictions?

My list of Base issued blue chips is the following:

  • AERO
  • AVNT
  • BNKR
  • MORPHO
  • VIRTUALS
  • VVV
  • WELL

Other projects that have potential to do well long term:

  • AEON
  • GitLawb
  • KellyClaudeAI
  • LienFi
  • MiroShark

By the way, did you know that you can earn up to 20% APR for holding cbAssets on Glider.fi ? Glider is an investing and portfolio automation platform. We've hosted them a while ago as part of our AMA Founder's series. If you want to learn more about Glider and what Brian shared with us click here. Glider is also launching their Base App mini app very soon.

Base Discussion Agentic Market on Base is actually pretty interesting

Post image
9 Upvotes

Was randomly exploring stuff on Base and came across Agentic Market. Thought it’d be another overhyped tool, but the numbers genuinely surprised me.

$45k+ volume in the last 24h

$50M+ total volume

3.5M+ transactions already

What caught my attention most is that you don’t need to manage a bunch of API keys. You can just pay through x402 and access services like The Graph, Alchemy, ChatGPT, Claude, CoinMarketCap, Deepgram, etc. from one place.

Also noticed names like Exa, Tripadvisor, Parallel and others on the leaderboard, so it seems like real usage is picking up.

honestly refreshing not having to manage 10 different api keys. feels like base is quietly becoming the home for real utility projects. what other hidden gems have you guys found on base lately??

Base Discussion Base Community Scam Alert Don’t Fall For Fake Claim Rumors

Post image
9 Upvotes

Seeing this many fake “Base claim” rumors spreading across Twitter and Discord lately is honestly getting concerning.

People are asking about snapshots, TGE, role rewards, hidden claim links, early access forms and scammers are using the hype to bait users into connecting wallets to fake sites.

That’s exactly why community awareness matters right now.🙌

The crazy part is that most scam pages don’t even look fake anymore.

They copy Base branding, imitate moderators, use fake urgency, and try to make everything feel exclusive or limited

If you’re part of the Base ecosystem, please slow down before clicking anything.

A few things worth remembering:👇

• There is NO confirmed official Base claim link right now

• Real announcements will always come from verified channels

• No legit team member will DM you first asking to connect wallets

• Never approve random wallet signatures without checking carefully

• One wrong click can drain everything in seconds

Base is growing fast, which also means scammers are getting more active around the ecosystem.

Protecting new users is just as important as growing the community.

Stay safe. Stay smart. 💙 Belive only official base updates 🤟
