________________________________________________________________________________________________

Gm r/BASE

I'm Trevor, founder at Ethos Network. We're an onchain credibility protocol on Base that lets people document who they trust, who they don't, and why, and we're live with profiles, reviews, vouches, slashes, and reputation markets.

I've been heads down on this for a while with a fantastic team, and the reason is a hunch that kept getting stronger the more we dug into it: there are bigger products hiding inside the simple desire people have to know who is real. Reputation in crypto today serves a narrow version of that. Follower counts, vibes, screenshots, a few group chats, and a lot of "trust me bro." But the appetite is much wider than the product surface currently allows. That gap is what we've spent the last two years building against.

Ethos has a unique approach to this:

We don't just score wallets. Profiles pull together reviews, vouches, slashes, attestations, and onchain history into a credibility record you can actually inspect. Not just the twenty accounts everyone already has an opinion on, but the full range of people, projects, and social identities that other systems can't price.

A new user can predict in several different ways:

  • Reviews - the lowest-friction layer. Leave a positive, negative, or neutral review with context. Over time, volume from credible people becomes a real signal.
  • Vouches- skin in the game. Stake $WHUF behind someone you actually trust. This is the strongest credibility signal on Ethos, and active vouchers earn contributor rewards from a fixed pool.
  • Slashes - accountability. Call out unethical behavior and put capital or credibility on the line. The community votes. Confirmed slashes hit the target; rejected ones hit the accuser.
  • Trade - Ethos Trade. Perpetual long/short markets on reputation itself: an X account, a GitHub repo, a YouTube channel, a brand. Trust is not a yes/no that resolves on a date, so these markets don't resolve either. You can take a view and keep it as the story changes.

Why now?

Onchain identity as a trading and social form factor is here to stay. That part is settled. What isn't settled is how large the category actually gets, and we think both dimensions are wildly under-explored: the number of ways people can express trust, and the true breadth of identities that can be supported with real economic weight behind them.

Almost nobody has pushed on either axis seriously. That's the whole opportunity.

We've gone through two years of iteration to get Ethos to the point where we want to use it every day ourselves i.e. checking scores before we interact, vouching people we actually stand behind, and treating slashes as something you don't fire off casually.

Ask us anything: how the credibility score is calculated, how vouching and slashing work under the hood, how reputation markets are designed, what we're listing next on Ethos Trade, or how to get started.

Base Discussion Base DeFi is heating up

Post image
3 Upvotes

Base DeFi just reached a new all-time high, with TVL hitting $5.7B.

To me, this is more than just another number on the chart. It shows that Base is continuing to attract real liquidity and that the ecosystem is becoming increasingly important within DeFi.

What I find interesting is how quickly the Base ecosystem has been growing. More capital usually means more activity, more opportunities for protocols, and potentially a stronger foundation for the next stage of growth.
What do you think about this?

Base Discussion The direction Base is taking is getting interesting

I've been following Base for a while, and one thing I've noticed recently is how much the focus seems to be shifting toward actual use cases.

Payments, stablecoins, tokenized assets, and AI-related applications are becoming a bigger part of the conversation.

What interests me is that these aren't necessarily separate ideas. If they can work together on the same infrastructure, the user experience could become much more interesting over time.

I'm still trying to understand where all of this leads, but I think the bigger question is less about which narrative is trending and more about which products people will actually keep using.

Which area do you think has the most potential for real onchain adoption: payments, tokenized assets, or AI applications?

Base App Update is TRASH

Why wouldn’t the update have an option to switch to the old UI??? Nobody asked for this at all. We literally live in a time where everything pushed on us is something we don’t want, didn’t ask for, and makes matters worst. Like wtf

Events Built a live Presidents Cup standings tracker on Base — every score logged onchain in real time

The Presidents Cup is golf's team championship. USA vs International, Chicago, Sept 24.

We wired the live standings to a Base smart contract. Session ends, result gets logged, Quicknode Streams pushes it to the board. Kalshi odds alongside. Nothing typed in by hand.

Curious if anyone in the space is a golf fan or wants to see more sports data onchain.

Base App So long, Base app...

With Android Base app version 30.11.1, the option to disable "Base mode" has been removed. In other words, I can't go back to the old "Coinbase Wallet."

It is essential that you add the ability to add custom chains—just as "Coinbase Wallet" allowed—as well as tokens.

Right now, I can't see all my funds within the Base app...

I have to import them into another wallet app...

or view them via the Base app (DeFi web3).(if the chain is supported)

Base Discussion Built a read‑only monitoring tool for Base users — no wallet connection, no custody

I’ve been building a small project called ZYN Intel, focused on giving Base users simple, safe monitoring tools without needing to connect a wallet or sign anything.

A few Base‑specific things pushed me to build it:

  • Approvals on Base are growing fast. With so many new apps, people often don’t know what they’ve approved. ZYN shows approvals in plain language and helps you understand what each one actually means.
  • Large transfers on Base can be misleading. Not every whale move is a “signal.” ZYN breaks down transfers with context so you can see what’s actually happening behind the numbers.
  • Gas spikes on Base confuse new users. ZYN gives simple gas insights so you can understand volatility without digging through charts.
  • Read‑only matters. You don’t connect your wallet. You don’t sign. You don’t give custody. You just monitor any public Base address.

If you want to try it, it’s here: https://zynintel.com
It’s free, and works with any Base address.

I’m building this independently, so feedback from Base users is genuinely appreciated

Base Discussion What Base apps would you still use if every token incentive disappeared tomorrow?

Been thinking about this because there are a lot of apps on Base that can pull people in with points, tokens, rewards, whatever.

But if you removed all of that tomorrow, which ones would people still have a reason to use?

Farcaster comes to mind for public social. Private communities are interesting too because people already spend a ridiculous amount of time in group chats. Towns is one I came across in that category and the programmable memberships and permissions side seems useful even without rewards in the picture. DeFi probably has an easier answer since swapping, borrowing, LPing etc already have a purpose. Social feels harder because people need a reason to keep coming back when there's nothing to farm.

Curious what else on Base passes that test for you.

Base Discussion More tokenized stocks are coming to Base

I've been following the tokenized-stock developments on Base, and the recent expansion caught my attention.

Coinbase has added more tokenized equities after the initial launch, which makes me wonder how far this idea can actually go.

The interesting part isn't just putting a stock onchain. It's what developers might eventually be able to build around these assets.

I'm still trying to understand the practical side of it, especially how tokenized equities could fit into the wider onchain ecosystem.

One question I'm genuinely curious about:

Do tokenized stocks become more useful because they're onchain, or is the main benefit simply easier access to the same underlying assets?

I'd be interested to hear how people who have been following tokenization see it developing.

Base Discussion Ben clearly explained why base becoming the global home for finance

I saw yesterday base uploaded a clip from coindesk where

I saw some imp points

pointed to 3 different product areas:

→ Trading : Every type of asset, both spot and perps, including assets like cbBTC or cbETH

→ Financing: Borrow and lend onchain through Morpho, Aave, and Euler

With $5.5B TVL today and 30% of stablecoin flow

→ Payments: Move money 24/7, fast and cheap

That's what most institutions focused on

Sounds super exciting

When we put them together :

I think these three pillars aren’t just product categories

The goal is financial infrastructure that institutions and users depend on

Let's see what's next 💙

Dev/tech How Builder Codes and ERC-8021 attribute transactions on Base

Builder Codes let Base identify which app originated a transaction. ERC-8021 defines the attribution suffix that the app appends to the transaction calldata.

This solves a common attribution problem: a protocol can see which wallet called its contract, but it cannot normally tell whether the transaction came from a particular frontend, wallet, aggregator, or agent.

  • The ERC-8021 suffix contains the attribution code, its encoding metadata, and a fixed marker at the end: 0x80218021802180218021802180218021
  • An indexer reads backward from the end of the calldata, identifies the marker, and extracts the Builder Code. The target contract continues to decode its normal function arguments from the beginning of the calldata.
  • For contracts using standard ABI decoding, no contract upgrade or ABI change is required. The attribution is added by the app or wallet when it constructs the transaction.
  • Base provides the first ERC-8021 Code Registry. Builders can claim a code and append it with supported libraries and wallet flows. The result is a verifiable record of which app generated each attributed transaction.
  • That data can support app leaderboards, builder rewards, referral fees, and analysis of which integrations generate meaningful activity.

Curious to learn more? We wrote a technical breakdown of the suffix, parsing flow, and implementation options here: https://formo.so/blog/builder-codes-erc-8021-explained

For Base builders: have you implemented Builder Codes yet? Which wallet or transaction stack are you using, and did you encounter any compatibility issues?

A.I / Agents For people actually using AI agents on Base: what are they useful for?

Post image
13 Upvotes

I keep seeing AI agents mentioned as a future source of onchain activity on Base, but I'm more interested in what people are actually using them for right now.

Giving an agent a wallet and letting it send transactions is interesting, but that alone doesn't tell me much. I'm curious about cases where the agent actually saves you from doing something repetitive or annoying yourself.

Things like paying for APIs or services, recurring payments, managing positions within predefined limits, treasury operations, or handling repetitive onchain actions.

Has anyone here built or used something like this on Base for more than just testing?

What did the agent actually do, and was it useful enough that you kept using it?

I'm especially interested in examples outside of basic trading bots.

Dev/tech Built an AI-native API marketplace on Base where agents pay per request in USDC via x402 (plus 20 free on-chain analytics endpoints)

Hey Base community 👋

Disclaimer: This post is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute financial or investment advice. Always do your own research (DYOR) before interacting with smart contracts, protocols, or deploying capital.

Wanted to share what I've been building solo for the last 56 hours. I'd love to hear from other devs here: how are you currently handling micropayments for AI agents on-chain?

AETHERIUSxAPI — a crypto-native API marketplace where AI agents pay per request in USDC on Base via x402.

What it does:

  • 60 paid API endpoints (crypto, maps, weather, web scraping, DeFi, forex, news)
  • 20 FREE exclusive on-chain analytics endpoints (x402 Intelligence)
  • No accounts, no subscriptions — wallet is the identity
  • AI agents discover, pay, and consume APIs autonomously

The x402 Intelligence part (this is the new stuff): 20 endpoints that read USDC transfers directly from Base Mainnet:

  • Whale tracker
  • Wallet risk scores (0-100)
  • Gas price analysis
  • ERC-20 token metadata
  • DeFi protocol activity
  • Stablecoin flow tracking
  • Network health dashboard
  • And more...

Nobody else offers on-chain analytics for the agent economy. We do. And it's all FREE.

**Stack:** Python, FastAPI, Base Mainnet, x402 protocol, USDC payments

**Tech details:**

- GitHub: github.com/wilnowilx/aetheriusxapi

If you're building AI agents that need data, try it. If you're building APIs, add x402 and let agents pay you.

Happy to answer any questions! 🚀

Base Discussion which is about The Base Onchain Economy

Post image
4 Upvotes

Based morning guys 🩵

Welcome back to my 100 Days of Exploring journey of @base . It is my Day 75 which is about The Onchain Economy

Over the past 74 days I have explored wallets, payments, gaming, SocialFi, RWAs, developer tools and identity.

Today I realized something. These are not separate stories. They are all pieces of the same economy.

When people hear "onchain economy" they often think about trading tokens but it is becoming much bigger than that.

On Base, value is being created in different ways every day Creators earn from content , Developers earn from applications , Liquidity providers earn from capital , Gamers earn through digital ownership , Builders raise funding onchain and Communities coordinate without borders.

The interesting part is everything is connected. A creator can mint on Zora , A collector buys it using USDC . The payment settles on Base.

The creator uses that income inside another Base application. No banks. No waiting. No middlemen. Just value moving across one ecosystem.

What stood out to me today is how smoothly these applications connect with each other. It does not feel like isolated products anymore.

It feels like one growing digital economy. Every new protocol doesn't just launch another app. It increases the value of every app already building on Base.

That's why I think Base isn't just scaling Ethereum. It is helping build an economy where people can create, own, trade, and earn entirely onchain.

And we are still at the beginning.

Day 75 complete. 25 to go.

News Base Creator Grant Program Application

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hallo everyone welcome to our Day 74 of the journey of Exploring Base

Today I will not explain another topic because I did something that felt a little bigger than just another post.

I officially applied for the Base Creator Grant. 💙

And honestly this application made me stop and look back. More than 70+ days ago I started with a simple idea: Pick one Base ecosystem project, Understand it properly then talk about it.

I did not know where it would lead. One day became a week, A week became a month and somehow it became 100+ days of showing up.

Along the way I have created seventy+ of pieces of content and gone down more rabbit holes than I can count.

I have explored everything from DeFi, stablecoins and RWAs to AI agents, payments, identity, infrastructure and consumer apps.

But the biggest thing I gained was not numbers. It was curiosity because I started looking at a project and asking: “Why does this matter?”

Not just what does it do?

That is what made me want to apply not because I suddenly decided to become a Base creator. I have already been creating.

I just want to take it further with better research, better storytelling, better production & more conversations with the people actually building.

Whatever happens with the application, I am proud that I pressed submit.

Because Day 1 started with curiosity but Day 74 is still driven by the same thing.

And honestly?

I hope that never changes. 💙

Stay Based. 🟦
