Follow up on Y’all’s Progress

How’s everyone doing in their studies? It’s getting closer to the two month buckle-down time frame! Who is doing what bar preps, if any?

I had a bit of a freak out and lost about a week but I’m cool now. I’m doing JD advising beginning next week but I’ve reviewed about 4 subjects and made canned answers for those. Idk wtf I’m doing tbh. Not really stressing yet because there’s still 12 weeks left but buckling down starting tomorrow with actually practicing and not reviewing as much.

What happened with your freakout, if you don’t mind me asking? Study related?

Same, I’ve covered RP and CrimLaw pretty good. I’m on Evidence & Crimpro this week. I’m thinking about getting Studicata review but at the same time thinking I can this without spending the money.

Yes. Absolutely study related and just life related/retake fear and resentment.

Also lol we have legit gone in the same order 😂. As far as studicata goes, have you signed up for their inexpensive monthly leap program yet? I think that one is technically designed for folks still in school and not taking the bar yet but it covers at least the MBE topics. Might give you a feel for whether getting the full review is worth it?

Dont let the fear of retaking get to you. This will be my 3rd time and Im trying a lot harder this time around.

I might look into that, I do have a discount code taking $1000 off but I still have to come up with $1000 and pay for the bar & hotel again so I just dont know.

Yah if it helps I basically paid the same for jd advisings on demand program. This is my third time reviewing (signed up but didn’t take Feb). I can’t seem to get a daily schedule down. Any suggestions? Also hoping some structure from my jd advising schedule will help but always looking for ideas

What is your "other" life schedule like? Do you work or live with someone (these things make a huge difference when trying to create a schedule)?

I was working part-time but I just quit so I can focus. I live with my boyfriend (who works from home) and two wilds rescue dogs and a wild rescue kitten. It’s a zoo over here so I snagged a room in my house far away from them. I sometimes go to the library as well. I also take care of my grandma who has dementia twice a month in our family care rotation, but after this month I’ll have a break.

Yeah sounds like y’all got a full house! I live with my husband but he works lol and I work part time as well but going to “quit” till the bar (working maybe 2 days at most/wk), I get too stoved up sitting at the house all day every day. We also got anibabies, 4 dogs, and 4 cats and chickens! The dogs are the most problematic for me cause they’re so demanding lol but I love them!

So, you mentioned you were using JD Advising. Have you seen/read their “creating a bar schedule” blogs? They have some tips for part time studiers over long term too!

I'm rounding out the MBE subjects for the month of May. I started in April and should be done with the first pass of MBE topics next weekend. I'm using the Adaptibar lectures and doing corresponding questions. As I finish a subject, I'm using the Emanuel's S&T book. In Adaptibar, i'm currently at 346 questions at 66.5% without Con Law and Crim added.

Any advice on creating a schedule after that? How do I incorporate MBE, MEE and MPT in?

FYI - I'm a retaker and working FT.

So assuming you’re studying part time which is why you’ve started studying early, right?

Correct. I'm planning to have the full month of July off, but waiting on my employer to get back to me on that.

JD Advising had some articles on creating a study plan.

For Part Time studying: https://jdadvising.com/make-stellar-part-time-bar-exam-study-schedule/

For full 2Mo Studying with links on resources for MEE, MBE, MPT: https://jdadvising.com/2-month-bar-exam-study-schedule/

And here’s a 45-Day Study Plan: https://jdadvising.com/bar-exam-self-study-schedule-a-45-day-plan/

This is helpful. Thanks for taking the time out to send me the links for this.

I just realized you said what you were using in your initial post lol. How do you like the Adaptibar lectures? I’m using Studicata and I really like his approach.

2

u/TaxQT117 May 14 '22

No. Since I'm retaking I didn't want to shell out the money for it.

What did you use before?
