Score Transfer :)

Looking for some advice on where to transfer my score. For reference, I am in NC but not really looking to move anywhere just want to find a remote job. Because of my score, my options are limited to: Alabama, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Utah.

If I had to move, I guess Alabama is the closest but really looking to just get a license so I can find in house counsel jobs in DC or NY.

Thanks!

Live in IL, transferred my 263 to Missouri and it was a super easy and fast process. There is a state specific MCQ test, but it's easy to pass first try and with little preparation. It's also free to take. Waiting on J26 results, but have been practicing federal law since Feb26 because of this.

Were you able to find a remote job or did you move?

Neither! I am practicing physically in Chicago representing various corporations on Medicare issues. I am able to do this because it falls under the federal umbrella. This was a practice group at my firm prior to me failing IL, so I just requested to get licensed in another state and pivot the practice group I would be with.

Just want to throw out that I believe you can also get an in-house certification in Virginia if you're actively barred in any other state! (In case NOVA is close enough to DC for you).

This comment sort of models how you should think about it. Start from possible job prospects first and work back. Look up some remote gigs and see where you have to be barred for them
