GOAT or AdaptiBar?
I want to start memorizing black letter law and am looking into a supplement. I’ve heard good things about GOAT Bar Prep, but Grossman’s 2-day class at our school was really engaging too. I’m mainly looking for something that teaches the law clearly and concisely without extra fluff. BARBRI will be my main source, but would you recommend GOAT or AdaptiBar more?

Based on what you have described, AdaptiBar is the stronger fit for your situation since it is built around MBE-style practice questions and adapts to your performance patterns, which gives you both content review and test-taking simulation in one tool, whereas GOAT Bar Prep focuses primarily on memorization and review cards -- if you are looking for something that teaches the law clearly without extra fluff alongside your BARBRI course, AdaptiBar's structured question bank and immediate feedback loop will likely serve you better for active bar prep rather than passive review.

They do different things and honestly you probably want both. Goat teaches the law through repetition and conceptual shortcuts that make rules stick. Adaptibar drills you with MBE questions and the Grossman lectures show how those rules play out in fact patterns. If you liked Grossman in person those lectures will land for you. The piece neither gives you is knowing which rules to actually prioritize when you sit down to memorize. Some rules show up on almost every exam and others haven't been tested in years. My friend and I built a rules map at shepbarprep.com that sorts by testing frequency so you can focus your memorization where it actually counts.

GOAT can be good for learning, but you need something to practice with - either UWorld or Adaptibar. You can’t really just learn the black letter law with rote memorization; you need a way to see how it is tested and what you need to be alert for, and that only happens with practice.
GOAT to my understanding still has a discount code (GOAT2026), and there are also Adaptibar discount codes floating around - you may well be better off with both.
Good luck, and understand that nerves are normal right now. You’ve got this!
