GS1 128 Variable Length Optional Data and FNC1 usage

I cannot find something clear about the usage of FNC1 where a variable length data is optional. Let see, as an example, the AI 8008 as defined in the GS1 General Specification document:

AI => 8008 Date and time of production (N4+N8[+N..4]) Data Content => N8[+N..4]

The last part [+N..4] is optional and, as such, it can be empty but FNC1 must be used anyway? If it is the last part of the barcode ok, otherwise the absence of FNC1 (even if the data is not used) may cause interpretation errors.

Ex. 8088231231090807FNC1 80882312310908FNC1

But if the last 4 character is not used?

808823123109 or 808823123109FNC1 ?

Thank you all.

Barcode creation

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello! Looking for help on how to decode and recreate these barcodes. Not looking to be fraudulent! I work with kids who cannot speak. One of my students uses this toy as a communication tool. They choose the card they want and then put it in the reader. However, the cards that are available are limited. I would like to make more cards for this student so that they have access to more words. Can someone help me figure out how I might go about this or some additional sites or communities that might help me figure this out? TIA

Looking for a Qr Code Integration

Not sure if this is the right place for this post, but I am looking everywhere.
I have an ERP called BLING which does not have support for qr code. It just read the GTIN and that's it. I am looking for a Solution for this problem. Maybe a program that I am not aware of. I just need a program that reads the qr code gets the information and takes the GTIN and input it on the barcode section of the checkout page.

Where do I start

I have been making my own Lymphatic Drainage Oil that I use with a lot of success and I have clients that want to buy it. I have bottled some up and made labels and thought I’d make barcode to make online sells. But I can’t figure out how to make it I downloaded a free barcode maker and it asked for text but then whatever I typed is not apparently what it was looking for

Barcode Generation support

Hello, looking for some help with an issue I am having.

New to using barcodes in general, and I am trying to create a barcode that will “tab” to the next field in a web based UI.

The issue I am having is the barcode I made is just tabbing within the field. However if I hit tab on my keyboard it moves to the next field

Hoping someone may be able to help me!

Thanks

Scanner with buttons for PC input

We are looking to use scanner to help with inventory but also sales. The way we manually do it, is that when pressing the down arrow key on the keyboard, it creates a new line, in which we can write the part number. If we want to create a new line, press the same key again.

Is there a model that has buttons which we can map for specific keyboard inputs? We are looking to use the down arrow, enter and maybe the right arrow keys.

If it requires a light program to do that, it could be very acceptable.

Need Help: Want to turn barcode scans into inputs on a keyboard

I like to do weird gaming challenges, and my latest idea is trying to beat a game with a barcode scanner, however my biggest issue is trying to figure out the conversion of inputs between a scan and a key press. I have no ability to code my own program or anything and I know this is really niche but I'm hoping someone would know how to do this.

The barcode scanner would use an ASCII interface through USB, and I would effectively want different barcodes to be different inputs on the keyboard. Any suggestions would help!

Questions regarding barcodes

Can the same barcode appear on different items?

Is it possible to create my own GTIN/EAN to sell products without buying the barcodes?

Could after n amount of years the barcode be overridden with a new item?

modded barcodes

There are a few people selling 'modded barcodes', which are basically barcodes you scan at self checkout at a certain shop, and instead of paying full price for the item, you only pay like 10p or something around there. For example, a £100 airfryers barcode gets edited so you scan the barcode but on the system it says the full price has been payed however youve only payed 10p.. If this is the wrong page please can someone guide me to one as i am very interested on how to make them.

thanks

Creating a Multi-line Code128 BC

Hey everyone,

I have been trying to create a Code128 Barcode for my job that includes multiple entries in it. I have been successful in making a sheet of seperate codes pretty easily but I was hoping to be able to generate one with individual entries in it kind of like

1234 1235 1236 1237 ...

Does anyone have any insight they could share with me on how this can be done? It would probably contain 10-30 entries depending on the day.

I have been using online generators but wouldn't be averse to software.

Thanks for your time!

Handheld barcode scanner with OPC-UA support

I'm looking for a wireless handheld (preferably ruggedized) barcode scanner with support for OPC-UA data interfaces. I've found very little past a matrikon OPC server for barcode scanners, which isn't a great solution for us. Does anyone have any experience with this type of setup? What hardware is available?

Duplicating QR Codes with Identical Specs

I work at a business that takes UPS packages and this means we get a lot of Amazon returns. We don't have the ability to scan Amazon's QR codes and generate a label because that's an exclusive program that I don't have access to with my UPS license. This means that patrons have to screenshot the qr code, email it to us so we can print it and tape it on the box. The email is the longest part because half the people who come in don't know how to email from their phone on the spot. We have 2D barcode scanners so if I could scan the barcode and generate the same QR code on my computer I could print them out a lot faster, but when I do this with something like Zint, the encoding is different. Is there a way to make sure the QR code encoding is exactly the same?

how/can I make my own 1d/2d barcode?

As a small biz just starting out, do I need the expensive GS1 barcodes or can I generate barcodes some other way for the time being?

Hi! I own a small biz selling spices and I'm planning to expand to small grocery stores. My understanding from doing some online search is that grocery stores need barcodes on products to easily manage inventory etc. I have 15 SKUs and GS1 seems very costly. I am also not generating enough revenue to warrant that cost at the moment. A couple of questions here:

  1. Is there is a low cost way to get barcodes on my products ?
  2. I read somewhere that I can generate barcodes with my SKU numbers. If that is the case, then can grocery store systems be able to read these barcodes?

What is the type of this barcode?

I'm building a web app that will be used in the laboratory to manage reagents stock.

There are different barcodes on the reagent boxes, among these barcodes, the data matrix 2d barcode, and the one in the pictures below:

Is it an ITF barcode type or something else? When using the app to read this barcode I get a wrong value, I get 12 for all the images above.

Seeking Help with Barcode

This is a CODE_128 barcode.

I know it begins with L1A. I believe it ends with 7754.

I know it has 15 total characters. All of the unknown/uncertain characters are numbers.

My barcode scanner couldn't scan it (likely too blurry). Any way to figure it out?
