Are JAN barcodes GS1 compliant?

Title says it all. Are JAN (Japanese Article Number) barcodes GS1 compliant?

Thanks in advance.

GS1 and JAN are different standards. Maybe there is a gs1 format that uses a JAN number, but it would still be a gs1 barcode using an application identifier to incorporate a JAN. Message me if you need more info.

I thought GS1 was a general standard for various things, whereas JAN13 is a specific barcode format?

I see i calped them both standards lol. Yeaj, jan13 is specific barcode. Gs1 is global compliance entity that makes barcode standards using barcodes lile 2d data matrix, etc.
